Police See Shocking Increase in Home Invasion Robberies

I lived in Sacramento and if I was to guess I'd say that home invasions are up because many there commute to the city. With real estate prices the way they are lots of people headed out to the valley to buy a house and commute long distances. That leaves long hours of day where someone can break into your home.

Burglary and home invasions are 2 different things

One of my friends apartments was home invaded by armed gunmen. Luckily their pitbull went after them and the gunmen shot and killed the dog and the noise of their gun firing was loud enough that the gunmen left after that.

Yeah, I've got my SKS in my bedroom, prettymuch just propped up in a corner, and five clips (that's 50 rounds, and yes, on an SKS, they're clips, NOT magazines) just chillin' next to it. I've shot my girlfriend 45 times, myself 16, my neighbors 23, and I haven't killed a single person staging a home invasion yet.

Oh, and I stabbed a kitten with the bayonet.

You're a fool if you actually use an SKS for home defense. Collateral damage liability is HUGE.

As far as the people saying that guns are bad, etc... I tell you this, I'd rather have a fighting chance with a gun than to just submit to the will of criminals.

That's not what it's primarily here for - but I'll be damned if I'm going to be concerned about the holes it's going to put in my walls, my neighbors walls, and my neighbor's rugrat's skull, if for some reason, I have to use it. Not old enough to own a handgun yet (wtf @ 21), and I can't be arsed to buy a cheap 12ga yet.

you have got to be kidding. If not then you should not have the SKS or any fvcking gun at all. you are not responsible enough to have it.

i really hope this i not how you really think. if so it really shows you are not responsible enough to have them.

It would take a lot to get me to point that thing at anybody. If they're that much of a threat, taking time to think about collateral damage is going to get me dead.

If it's that grave of a situation, a one-in-a-million shot at bad ****** happening is a lot better than a certainty as far as I'm concerned.

You are officially an idiot who should not own a firearm and the typical moron who owns an SKS as his only weapon.

It's my only weapon because I just moved out of my parent's house. We had a FRICKIN' ARSENAL there, but this was the only piece registered to me. So it's the only one I took.

Trade it for a handgun or a shotgun. It is grossly irresponsible to use an SKS in home defense. You shouldn't have to take the time to think of the collateral damage, but that doesn't excuse you from doing it. It should make you instead want a gun that's actually practical for home defense.

You seem like a fairly irresponsible gun owner. Fortunately your guns will be confiscated in the next few years.

I am not surprised.

I warned about this quite a long time ago in P&N.

As you widen the gap between rich and poor this is what you can expect.

Especially when the poor have no hopes of not being so poor with hard work.

The business practices of pandering only to the rich is what is causing this.

Unless to U.S. returns to it's roots it is cooked.

Look at Dave excuse violent crime, folks.

Dave, your idiocy never fails to surprise me. And 90% of it is fed by your irrational class envy. You spend so much time envying and hating the wealthy you never have a chance to actually produce anything of value and make money yourself.

Everything in your life is someone else's fault.

Any handgun you can get for a $90 rifle is going to be more dangerous than the $90 rifle, based on the fact that it's made of plastic.

I want a shotgun, it's just not practical for me to GET one right now, due to financial constraints. I've said several times that the SKS isn't for home defense. It's for target shooting and hunting. But since it's all I have, if I need to, I'll use it - any other reaction would be stupid.

The business practices of pandering only to the rich is what is causing this.

What about the billions and billions we spent on welfare, food stamp, public housing, various federal and state projects to help the poor since the 60s? What do we have in return for our tax dollars besides generations and generations of welfare receivers, welfare queens, people lack of the will to work hard and instead focus on crime and quick money <dealing drugs, commit crimes, etc.>?

First generation of legal immigrants like me become successful such as get college degrees, get good paying jobs, buy new cars, buy new houses, own our businesses, and much more. If we can do it, why can't the US born natives do the same? Oh let me guess, the immigrants don't have to pay any taxes? <That?s what one of the US native borns told me and didn't have anything to back it up>.

So yes, you can be anything you want to be in the US if you really want to do it even if you are poor <I came to the US with nothing but clothes on my back>. You have to work hard, play within the rules, willing to scarify to achieve your goals. It is much easier to blame everyone but yourself for your own failure. What happened to the ?boot yourself up by your boots? and if you don?t have boots, pull yourself up by your behind if need be.
