Police Officers unloads bullets right into the K-9 Dog

lol, I'm pretty sure it's not a murder charge. Maybe something like assaulting an officer though.

In most cases they do treat the murder of a on-duty police dog the same as murdering an on-duty police officer.

Okay, found this. Thought I heard or read somewhere that the penalty was the same as killing an officer. Guess I was mistaken.

Injuring or killing a police dog is a 3rd degree felony punishable by imprisonment of up to 5 years.

My understanding was a police dog is treated as a full police officer. If you kill a police dog, you should be charged with murdering an officer of the law. End of story.

all and good. now who are they going to charge? this was the police who fcked up.

I dont wanna watch it, but what happens? dog goes after perp, perp throws gun away, cops wtf perp with bullets and also hit dog who is doing its job???

Well - I have nothing against dogs, cats or other domesticated pets, and I don't want to derail this thread down that path - but I am feel obligated to say that the idea of equating the death of a police dog to a police officer is really, really dumb.

There are two types of life on this Earth: Human and other. Human life is sacrosanct. The other we routinely kill, torture and maim according to how cute they are and how good they taste. I refuse the thought of taking that level of arbitrary decisionmaking and turning it into law.

I don't think the audio and the video are synced correctly. However, he clearly throws the gun away before he and the dog are shot. He made the sudden move to throw the gun and jump away from the dog, that is what triggered the gunfire.

Poor dog, he was just doing what he was trained to do.

WTF, did I saw that right.

Cops ask guy to drop the gun -> start shooting -> guy throw gun -> dog ran up -> both went down.

wow that was a really f*cked up scenario for everybody.

The dog was just doing what it was trained

the perp was throwing down the gun as he was instructed to

the police were too jumpy and opened up on the perp as he was throwing down the gun.

bad bad bad bad bad....

yeah thats what i seen.

leaves to question WHY they let the dog attack.OR did they let the dog attack (wich is what usually happens) then start shooting hitting the dog.

either way they need a bunch of training.

Yeah we'll never know. I mean this is 2006, not 2506. The forensics science is simply not there. Heck, do they even have a CSI department? Maybe in the future, they'll have things like fingerprinting, video testimony, witnesses, ballistics testing, etc. But what do I know? I am just making these words up!

Small shame about the dog, but WTF guys? Nobody cares that the cops gunned down an unarmed human? Seriously, WTF?
