Police mace the hell out of peaceful OWS protesters

1. Pepper Spray isn't going to kill anyone, let's all just calm down.
2. Most of these OWS dildos don't even know what they are protesting, they just think it's fun to go get together and protest and have cool stories to tell other people.
3. If the police ask you to leave (and it's within the law for them to ask you to do so), you should probably leave.
4. At least they didn't taze them or send the dogs on them.
5. These people will have sweet stories to tell their friends and grandkids someday. Their pain was temporary and their 15 minutes of fame was probably worth it in their mind.

If it were me, I'd be all like "Damn this shit stings....but man o man am I going to have a great story to tell for the rest of my life...lol". I'd make sure to save all the footage, articles, and photos and haul them out later so my grandkids can laugh with me as we ride around in our flying cars and look back at this incident on my 450Ghz iDevice.

Your right to free speech and assembly is not without limits. Reasonable time and location restraints may be imposed.

Easily higher than 70k. The starting salary of Oakland PD is already 69k. I was offered less as an engineer out of school. SFPD is in the 70s, and I know of departments in the south bay that make 80k starting easily.

And another thing. Though you have the right to protest etc, you do not have the right to try to overthrow the government. The law allows for lawsuits to force the government to follow the law and for impeachment/removal from office if the leaders fail to do so. Also, every 2 to 4 years, you get to change the leaders.

I just wish someone would start an online petition telling everyone they need to get over it already, stop acting like it's the end of the world or an attack against free speech.

People in foreign country protest, we send them guns and missiles and teach them how to use them.

People protest in our country, we piss on them and call them hippies.

LA Times reported 61 deaths from pepper spray incidents. I suppose you could punish me for using Wiki as a source, but I think its worth considering that it can be quite harmful in some circumstances.

2. Doesn't make a bit of difference.
3. What if you have a right to be there?
4. I guess that's good...
5. Agreed, but doesn't really factor in one way or another in judging the appropriateness of the response.

Man handling them can produce broken bones. They had interlocked arms. The way to unlocked them is to take a baton to the offending appendage. That's going to leave a mark. Pepper spray is less likely to leave long lasting effects like broken bones.

I've been hit with CS gas (never pepper spray) numerous times and while it was highly irritating, is was just short term.

As far as pregnant women, I guess that's the risk she takes when she doesn't disperse as ordered. I'd venture to say that her reasoning/decision making skills sought to be looked at by child protective services.

What difference does the message make as long as it's not an illegal one? "I don't like what's going on with the government/wall street" is good enough to be considered speech. What are they trying to accomplish? Hell if I know.

You see they didn't have a right to be there. The courts have ruled the government can set limitations of this kind.
