It seems to me that if a police officer jumps on your back, initiates physical contact, shoots first, etc., that they should lose the protection of the badge. Any situation which they instigate should allow you to respond as if anyone else had attacked you.

It would be immensely satisfying to turn around and beat the hell out of her, maybe bounce her head off the tile floor a few times until her eyes rolled back in her head.

Of course you'd be crucified by the other police officers, and the media. Not only would you be a violent crazy person resisting arrest, you'd be a woman beater.

Exactly. She has complete power in this situation.

You disobey a direct order from a police officer (in this case "Stop") and wonder why they subdued you?

Police are too empowered. They should need permission or a warrant to even touch someone. Otherwise cases of abuse like this will continue to be more common.

And if officers need permission or a warrant to touch someone, you're going to wind up with A LOT of dead police officers and criminals running around.

Big deal. The current search and arrest warrant systems let a lot of criminals go free and cost a lot of lives, but it prevents police abuses. This is just taking it one step further.

So you're saying the current system lets lots of criminals go free..so we might as well let more criminals go free -- and kill off some cops while we're at it?

I must say I disagree 100%.

Cops would be forced to retreat from threatening situations rather than escalate them as they currently do. They could return prepared to deal with the threat once they had proper authorization.

Oh hell..you're hopeless.

Or sarcastic. Or stupid. I can't quite tell which.

So if a uniformed officer could stop someone that is currently assaulting you, you'd want him to go ahead and get a signed warrant to stop the assailant?

Maybe we'd be better off in that situation..

The lawyer says unless I have tons of witness or a videotape I can't really press charges.

He says the system works for the cops.

At this point I haven't done anything except filed a brutality report with Internal Affairs.

I'm very disappointed though - injuries include large scrapes/gashes on both knees, bruise on head, stiches on hand, and handcuff cuts.

I have no criminal record.

Please give me the officer's name, badge number, department, and supervisor's name. Also give me an address that a bottle of wine and a gift basket can be sent.

Thanks.

haha...I'm in too...where do I paypal?

heh i can see a police officer standing there on the phone. "but judge this guy is getting his ass kicked! i need that warrant NOW!"

I'm 6'3" 200lbs, great shape, 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and I carry either a Sig 228 or a Kimber Ultra Compact every day.

People should take charge of their own defense. I never expect the police to help me out of a jam. I've helped police officers several times, ironically, to detain a resisting individual.

And if someone jumps you and shoves a knife into your spine, paralyzing you, what are you gonna do? Shout at him?

What if it's more than one guy, and they've got a gun to your temple while the other guy searches you?

A lot of good that Tae Kwon Do and the gun the assailants now posses is going to do you if they decide to have some fun and rape you.

But the officer that's on the street corner, no he won't be able to help you because he has to call it in and wait for a Judge to issue permission to help you.

The e-baddassery is stunning.

What about those states in which CC is not legal or is heavily restricted? What about those who are much smaller than you -- is it fair to expect a 120lb woman to put up the same fight as a 200lb man?

So what about the guys out there who are 140lbs soaking wet, who are going up against 220lb bubba and his friends?

And a lot of good calling the police would do in such a situation. Even if a police officer were physically on the scene you'd still be hosed.

Don't put needlessly place yourself in dangerous situations and you shouldn't have to worry about such a scenario anyway.

Let's just issue every man, woman, and child a couple of hundred rounds of ammo and a fully automatic weapon and let everything sort itself out?

Apparently -- but only if everyone has to get permission from the government in order to use said weapon. Since, of course...if officers need permission, why should civilians be any different?

Dream all you want, Nebor....but in real life, your 'reasoning' is..well, not reasonable.

Who said anything about calling the police? I'm talking about if the police officer was right there on the corner, watching you get ass-raped by a bunch of thugs.

And don't needlessly place yourself in dangerous situations? Contrary to your belief, you can only control what you do. You can do everything to avoid dangerous situations, but they will find a way of coming to you at one time or another.

LOL I bet you're happy I got beat by a girl?

I'm glad you got beat. You can claim you 'argued politely', but I've never seen you do it. I have no reason to doubt that you got exactly what you paid for.

The fact that it was by a 'girl' is just icing on the cake. 😀

I don't have the fvckin pics.

My friend who is a photographer has the pics... he is working on getting them developed right now. I'd love to show them to you.

Honestly I harbor no animosity towards police officers and I would never post a thread like this unless I was honestly in some sort of physical pain.

I'm not an e-badass. Anyone here can tell you that. I'm resident queen of GayTOT. But I'm mentally and physically prepared to defend myself.

Anyone over the age of 21 in good standing with the government can obtain a CCW permit in Texas. And you can find dozens of stories every month in newspapers across the country where people have defended themselves with their handguns. Even 100lb 80 year old women. If you don't live in a shall issue state, you should work to change that, leave the state, or simply come to terms with your helplessness. The police cannot protect you!
