"A person may not remain on private property.... after having been notified by the owner or the owner's agent not to do so." (crazy link.... I wouldn't click on it if I wasn't the one who posted it 😱 )

They didn't press charges, so therefore you "aren't a criminal". But you still broke a law. You made the point that you were "polite" and that the cops came and only "heard their side". This doesn't matter, you were trespassing.

This of course doesn't mean you deserved to be roughed up or beaten, but when I read your account of events, I felt like I was missing something. I wasn't there, so I can't say. Regardless of who was at fault, maybe it is best you won't be in that store again for awhile.

It seems to me that if a police officer jumps on your back, initiates physical contact, shoots first, etc., that they should lose the protection of the badge. Any situation which they instigate should allow you to respond as if anyone else had attacked you.

It would be immensely satisfying to turn around and beat the hell out of her, maybe bounce her head off the tile floor a few times until her eyes rolled back in her head.

Of course you'd be crucified by the other police officers, and the media. Not only would you be a violent crazy person resisting arrest, you'd be a woman beater.

Exactly. She has complete power in this situation.

You disobey a direct order from a police officer (in this case "Stop") and wonder why they subdued you?

Police are too empowered. They should need permission or a warrant to even touch someone. Otherwise cases of abuse like this will continue to be more common.

And if officers need permission or a warrant to touch someone, you're going to wind up with A LOT of dead police officers, and also dangerous criminals running around.

Permission?

"Excuse me sir, would you please drop the life and permit me to handcuff you, or kindly remain right here while I go get a warrant for your arrest?"

No thanks.

Big deal. The current search and arrest warrant systems let a lot of criminals go free and cost a lot of lives, but it prevents police abuses. This is just taking it one step further.

So they would need to ask trespassers/thieves/vandals/etc to touch them before they arrest them? There are these things called "probable cause" and "reasonable suspicion" that allow officers to act while the problem exists - after all, it's not like you can go to a judge and get a warrant on the weekend, or at night.

Well, you're just retarded.

"Pardon me sir, could you pull out of Nebor's mom for a moment? Okay, you can finish up first, I just want to talk to you."

Here's a novel concept - don't be a dumbass, and you won't get the Skittles kicked out of you.

So when people no longer choose to be police officers, and all the ones that are currently employed either quit or get killed because it's so damn dangerous, what are you going to do?

I must say I disagree 100%.

1. Get pictures of your injuries.

2. Write down the exact date time you were in that store, and a description of the cop.

3. Post us a pic of what you typically look like.

And hell, it's not like Proletariat was even that innocent in this case. At any point up to when he was leaving, he could've been arrested for trespassing. For his conduct in the store, he could've had a disorderly conduct charge brought against him. For not listening to the officers direct orders, he could've been ticketed for disobeying an order from a LEO. And then when the officer's were cuffing him, he was resisting arrest.

Seriously, hope it works out for you man. 🙂

I honestly look like a normal guy. I was in my work clothes - Dockers Khakis and a dress shirt.

I wasn't saying anything political. The clerk at a Shoppers Food Warehouse was repeatedly rude to me. I called him a jerk. He refused to sell anything to me (apparently its legal here). I call BS. He calls police. Policewoman gets their side of the story (I was on the other side of the room) then comes over and just tells me rudely to get out. I politely argue with her telling her my side of my story. She gets hysterical and just keeps saying get out. After a minute I listen to her and leave, then she says stop, obviously fvcking with me. Knocks me to the ground from behind. I didn't know what happened I unconciously tried to get up. She pulls my hair throws me to the ground again a couple times on the concrete then handcuffs me. Takes me home in car with my car still in the lot. I say this is illegal. She says what you gonna say? A couple of girls beat you up? I say first of all I'm not gonna hit a woman second of all not a police officer.

Wow, well first off I'm glad you didn't hit the officer that would have been felony assualt charges..

However I feel for ya man. Sounds like you might have been a little hard headed?

Wish I have words of wisdom but I don't except just next time don't argue with the police, and don't fight with them period, you will always lose in the end. Most especially if it is a corrupt cop...

Good luck on getting it worked out, and hope your wounds heal.

Hugs,
Val

That sounds fvcked up, though I have to take that story with a grain of salt. No one in the store witnessed the event?

Seriously, there's no security cams that may have captured this event?

If it actually happened, there would be. Not to mention witness testimony.

I look forward to checking this thread again in the morning. It's cases like these that I wish I was in the OPs situation, oh, and I was one of the X-Men.

That's one of the dumbest comments I've read here.

Cops would be forced to retreat from threatening situations rather than escalate them as they currently do. They could return prepared to deal with the threat once they had proper authorization.

Still, somebody woudl say something. I find it hard to believe that absolutely nobody would say a damn thing in this situation. Not to mention the kind of media coverage exposing dirty cops in his area would get.
