POLE: Would you consider living in california?

halik

I've noticed a lot of anti-kali sentiment around here (meself included), so here's a pole to settle it.

Personally, there's virtually no way I'd consider living there. I'm vehemently opposed to the general ideology that comes from that state and cannot wait until it goes bankrupt. That would once and for all prove that government run by fringe ideology and populist bullshit (most of the props passed) is simply not viable.

what kind of ideology are you talking about??

Left wing nanny state agenda - virtually everything you see peolosi and/or feinstein now push onto the national level.

In all honestly the proposition-to-law system is what bothers me the most by far. It's just an execrise in mean regression of intelligence; gateway for every single populist POS idea to get signed into law.

I was born, raised and still live in California.
I will not retire here.

BTW, you're an econotard if you think a state can file bankrupcy.

I'd consider it under certain conditions. It's a huge state so I'm sure I could find an area I might like, and if I had a well paying job so the living expenses weren't a large factor that'd help a lot.

I voted "No f@#$@# way"

Absolutely NO FUCKING WAY I'd want to live in Kahlee...oh hell...waitaminit...I DO live in Kahleeforneeya...
<dammit!> how the fuck did THAT happen? I KNEW I shoulda took a left toin at Albakoikie!

I always swore that I'd N-E-V-E-R go back to Kahleeforneeya....just a big granola bowl...full of fruits, nuts, and flakes.

I let a construction company that I'd worked for a couple of times talk me into coming here for a 6-8 week job.

In the middle of that job, my wife and kids, who had never been to Kahleeforneeya, came to visit...and they fell in love with it here.

"Does it snow here?" my kids asked. When I told them no, almost never, they replied, "Can we stay?"

That was in the summer of 1987...and we've been here ever since.

The place has it's good and bad, just like everywhere...and we've lived places that were worse in many ways...and of course, places that were a lot better in other ways.

Do I like the politics here? FUCK NO! And, on top of an overly-liberal state legislature, this muscle-bound moron the "good folks" of Kahleeforneeya voted into office has been a total disaster for the state...WAY worse than Gray Davis ever was.

/me shakes his head in amazement...

I considered it when I saw this thread title.

Of course, I know absolutely nothing about the state, I've never even been in the US.

Yes, but only for work purposes, at least SoCal. I've spent a decent amount of time on the coast off of LA and down through San Diego, I don't really care for it much.

I'm working my arse off so I can move back. I'd live there in a heartbeat if all the necessary practical pieces of life came together. I'm far from loving the California-style ideology, so I daydream about coming up with enough gun-toting libertarians to join me in taking it over and turning it into a semi-autonomous government and putting the world's sixth-largest economy to some REAL use! 😉

I love the history of the place, I love the different geographies (especially the northern part of the state, where I call home), I love the weather and the scenery and I could go on for days. There are lots of good people there, just outnumbered by the wackjobs.

California is the best state to live with the best weather.
I am living right here in the capital of Silicon Valley where most of the super hi-tech stuff are invented and we're mostly the last to use, lol

Maybe. If it got rid of all those Republicans there first.
But then I might even be willing to consider living in Texas if all the Republican/religious retards there would be removed from the area.

what so bad about socal? I liked that place when I visited
the beach, the food, the weather, etc.

I'm talking about the suburban areas down from L.A.
