Hell no. Most of the people are bat shit insane (no manners, self centered, talk too much in rambling nonsense, etc). It is a lovely state with awesome weather and natural resources, but it's the people that make it stink.

One of only 3 states in the US I can actually imagine living in and it would be at the very top of that short list.

I think that if you made a list of states you wouldn't live in and randomly asked people living there if they would move to Canada they would laugh at you.

Canada is not a state, it's a country. There is about 80% of Canada I would never live in, so I'm not really sure what kind of point your making, or maybe you just wanted to flash your ignorance for the world to see.

I can see myself living in Vancouver.

Narrow roads. Lots of beggars. Horrible housing costs. And it has KT. PASS!

😛

I live here now... Bay Area FTW

hey me too.

maybe we should meet up for hookers and blow?

Aww man, you California folks get to have all the fun. 🙁

KT

You're invited of course, sweetheart. :lips:

I'm in!

Hell ya. It's the only real state I would consider working/living in. Even on job apps, when asking which office I'd be interested in, I only tick the CA ones (not like it'd actually matter).

I'd go mainly for the weather and open air. That place is pretty effed up culturally.

Already live in CA and love it. 😀

I've been here all my life though.. I wouldn't mind moving elsewhere just for the experience.

probably easier said than done. 😉

i think the taxes there suck, but i would def. consider living there. it probably has the same tax rate and liberal nanny state ideas as new jersey, but it's also a hell of alot more fun and scenic. i'd take hawaii over all though. people there aren't complete jerks and it's very laid back

Bunch a haterz!

Born and raise most of my life in Cali and have been living in the Silicon Valley for the past 8.5yrs.

I lived in Oregon (4yrs) & Missouri (3yrs) as well. I love this state - yes the taxes suck, yes its expensive, yes its way too liberal - but the people are highly educated and quite progressive and the scenery is amazing!

Poll option for people already living in California? I have no desire to live anywhere else, but even with all the Cali-hate, it's not becoming any less crowded.

Isn't there a law that if you buy a house in CA then your property taxes can only go by 2%/yr or something? That would be pretty sweet though if you were in it for the long hall...since you can scale back a lot sales tax hit stuff and income tax only hits you if you have income!

Its precisely the lack of those people that makes Canada a nice country 🙂

You would be referring to this, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C..._Proposition_13_(1978)
I enjoyed it for many years, but it really only benefits those, such as myself that bought years ago,('76) AND STAYED PUT. Sucks for the guy I sold to, unless of coarse, he stays in the home for a good long while.

Maybe. I'd prefer somewhere like Lake Tahoe. Mountainous but decently populated. My politics would cause problems in California, but it's only a matter of time before California politics spreads to the rest of the country anyway.

I'd stay away from Los Angeles and San Francisco though.

I know this is a super-small sample set, but I was in California for 10 days in 2007 (San Bernardino, Redlands, Palm Springs, and Joshua Tree) and with exactly one exception the people were very friendly and polite.

Well, maybe two. Some kid threw his backpack in the road infront of my car. I stopped, he stared at me and slowly picked his pack up and walked off. Nuts are everywhere though.

Guess so since I've been here most of my life. Where I live the weather is hard to beat. There's the threat of a big-ass earthquake where I am, but it hasn't happened to me yet. I don't pretend it won't, though.

SoCal: NO FUCKING WAY

I've lived NoCal long time but grew up in L.A. I don't put down L.A., at least the parts I've lived in and seen. But it's gotten worse. Population is denser than it used to be and the traffic situation sucks. Clogged freeways. It's better in San Diego for that, but not always great. Traffic in NoCal can be really bad too. It's at the top of the list of complaints of the folks up here. Myself, I don't drive much, so it doesn't affect me like most people. Knock on wood.
