So you have lost $6.00 so far? 😕

Buy some books before you lose even more $. Seriously.

Theory of Poker, Hold Em Poker For Advanced Players, and Pot-Limit & No-Limit Poker (by Ciaffone and Reuben) should get you into pretty good shape for your home game. I assume you guys play no limit hold em.

yup.......... like I said......... I just have to tighten up. I am known for getting out to an early lead (knock out 2-3 people) but then I don't play discipline. U have to tighten up and play smart.

I am a pretty aggressive player but I have won the whole show a couple times.

Cheers,
Aquaamn

On another note, I'm up $1200 in two weeks at $30/3 🙂 Wish I knew some good local games though, there has to be SOME around Chicago . ..

From reading his post, I think he's netted $100, but I could be wrong. Swings of 12 losses in sng's are not unheard of even for good players, going through my spreadsheets, but it would suck to hit one when you haven't hit an upswing.

Since the start of the year I've been down (-$300) but now, with yestardays win, I am up $700 😀

Finished third in my game, doubled my money to $100. Went all-in with 99 against a AJ after the flop came 5 2 7. Turn - 8. River - J :brokenheart: Oh, well, I was short stacked at the time compared to the other two, since I couldn't knock out a single person all night. But I played well, and I'm still up this year as well, around $500. 😀

That's a bad bet on the river dude.

I was getting a lot of high pockets & a lot of good face card combos all night long.

I was all in after the flop. Had to try to make something happen, and since it was checked to me on the button, I knew at that time I had the best hand. Just didn't finish that way.

I usually don't bluff, and if I'm all in it's because I believe I have the best hand at the time. I was hoping he wouldn't call, since I put him on two over cards to my pair, but he wanted to gamble. That's how it goes sometimes. And that was the first time I had played with him, he was a guest of a regular. As is common at NL hold em games, all I can say is "!@#%$#@ RIVER!!"

This isn't necessarly a bad play. On insane blind structures (cough, partypoker especially, cough) you gotta make really hard calls sometimes . . .
