I see that these are being locked if they mention real money. Why are these getting locked and then for a while now AT's had an ad from PartyPoker for a deposit bonus?

I'm curious about the reasoning behind this as well. Only thing that I can come up with is because online gambling is illegal in certain states.

They are probably just being cautious because the forum is populated by so many kiddies!

Then why have ads for it?

It's like locking babe threads and then having Maxim as an advertiser.

The mod reply in the ATOT thread about this that Rossman started make it appear that Anand and The Mods have a disagreement about this issue. The mods regulate the forums, but Anand controls the ads. Could get interesting . . .

I agree. It makes little sense to me (one of those "out of the loop")

Not to mention we've got now a bigger flashing ad up top. Eww, eww, eww, bad ju-ju! :)

I can see the number of threads getting out of control, but there's gotta be other topics that are arguably more harmful than poker.

Wow, I was shocked to see the Ads this morning.

This should be monitored closely in case of any abuses.

I don't know how that could be done though.

That doesnt make any sense. They are responsible for the ads MUCH more than they are responsible for members posts, so if they are worried about responsibility why would they use the ads? That just doesnt make any sense.

They had the ads in Hot Deals, too where one of the written rules is "No links to gaming sites." Go figure.
