Saw it in the Sunday paper; went to the store immediately and picked up both Gold & Silver versions of Pokemon for the Color Gameboy for $40 together. That's an unbeatable deal, even online its like $30 each!

Does the Senior Member of this forum think that all members are single males with no children?

Just curious...

Your attitude only furthers that negative perception that is becoming widespread concerning this forum.

Mysterie,

My 7 year old daughter has it in her head that Pokemon is for babies. She came up with this idea a year ago. However, when we were looking at ads this morning her first response was...can I sell it on Fleabay and make some money? Then she called her friends to tell them of that deal and the big Toys 'R Us sale...which also includes video games.

One of her friends told her that she would pay her an extra dollar if she would go get one for her since her mother was out of town. Wheeling and dealing starts at a young age these days.

Oh G**, Bandito,
I remember when one of my cousins was 13 and he proudly said that when his friends borrowed money from him, he got paid back with interest. I was so shocked. Boy, the kids nowadays do start early. (BTW I'm not that old, only 23, but from their point-of-view I rank up there as old, not ancient, but old)

Just got back from buying Pokemons. We went to Circuit City to do the 110% price match. The sales person had no problem with giving us the free gold and silver frame plates. He said they were free but they rang up as a penny. Actually, you could dispute what they are doing in charging that penny because of the advertisement. However, my daughter took out six pennies and said she would pay for the plates.

Well, just by chance the head honcho of the store came up as he was ringing it up and she said we could not have the frames. We could either get the price match or the free frames. What a crock. Even the sales person made a comment after the sale was done and the manager left.

When we left the store my daughter said Circuit City was a bunch of crooks who didn't live up to their advertisements...:)

We got 1.00 off each game but I suspect you may get less if you try it because I just saw an ad that said they are taking 5.00 off every game.

I wouldn't buy any game boy games if I were you guys . .

The Game Boy Advance has already been announced and it beats the pants off the current game boy, a 32bit processor instead of 8, larger screen, carts can have more memory = larger & better games and full motion video! :Q

from what I've read games will be about equal to the quality of SNES games, except the carts for the GBA hold more data

release date for the US is suppose to be next July.

This is what i'm waiting for :) Anyone want to buy my special edition Golden Gameboy with backlite LCD? It's not color, but the backlite makes up for it

The thing is you can play old gb/gbc games on the gba. Also, no new Pokemon games have yet been planned for the gba, it's too early. Nintendo is still developing games for the gameboy, including Pokemon Crystal with a cell-phone adapter. I've already spent 7 hours on the game already, and I got my copy yesterday. It's a good game, it's just that it's name has been abused by greedy execs trying to making millions of different products like shoes, blankets, glue, and whatnot. Such a shame it was so American-ized, well, I'm off to Kanto (Don't ask if you don't know). :)

Hey;
The GBA actually does have one Pokemon game planned for it. Called "Pokemon Crystal." It is believed to have online access and you might be able to fight your Pokemons against your best friend's pokemon in Japan!! Anyway; this is a pretty good deal for anyone looking for any holiday shopping or anything. Even online this game doesn't go that cheap. There were many kids at Best Buy...I did look a bit weird; but it was for my website. That was my backup. And on E.bay, it doesn't go for that much more. People are becoming more smarter these days thanks to boards like this. And anyone who came to this thread to say "This is a stupid deal; no one likes Pokemon" can just leave. This is hot deal whether or not you like pokemon!

You going to Kanto? Me to! I love the way the game handles the time and always keeps it correct. It's beautiful. It's night time now and I must capture a Rattata! Heheh. Also; I am pretty sure "Pokemon Crystal," is for the GBA...

I am almost to Kanto, gotta back track to get some ghost-types. Crystal is due December 14th in Japan, so it's not for gba. Also, pictures of the phone adapter connected to the gbc has been passed around the 'net, so it's comfirmed. It probably won't hit American store shelves, mostly because America is bigger than Japan, so their cell phone ranges makes it more complicated for the transition overseas. Also, most of the Japanese have cell phones, and the main demographic NOA is trying to hit don't have cell phones, their parents do. :)

Ah, I found it here no American release date, probably will never be released in America. :(. Nice screen shots, though.

yep all gameboys have been and will be backward compatible! so all the games dating back to when GB came out in 1989 will work on the GB Advance!
