Poison Ivy Treatments?

So I am going up to Michigan State to visit a friend today and I just learned she got poison ivy. Do any of you know a treatment that I could pick up at like a CVS/Rite-Aid/Walgreen's that works well?

According to the movie series, you need to suck on the wound. And by wound, I mean 'bejingo'. (Scrubs 😉.)

Honestly? I don't have a clue.

I probably would understand that if I watched TV more

Once you get it there's really nothing much you can do about it. Keep in mind it's a myth that poison ivy spread by itching it, but you still want to avoid itching it so you dont get scars.

The only thing you can do really is learn to identify poison ivy and avoid it. If you do touch it though you have a window of time during which you should use rubbing alcohol (NOT soap + water) to thoroughly clense and scrub the areas contacted. It will 99%of the time destroy the oils and prevent an outbreak.

You can try calamine lotion or an oatmeal bath or both

While I would like to help her with an oatmeal bath I am looking for something a bit quicker to apply 😉

What I use...

Sweet! I will check that out...does it really work as well as advertised?

It provides relief. Not as well as advertised but it makes a difference. At least that's my experience and I get poison oak about 4 - 5 times a year.
It's about $30 for a 1oz tube.

never heard of that before and looking online I find some mixed opinion. some are praising it others say it's overpriced and doesn't work. It's $40 for a small container.

noone believes this but rubbing the blisters open then washing with gasoline will kill it off and it will not come back.

Yes I have done this

The Poison Ivy series are pr0n. Scrubs is a comedy series. It socks.

And by rocks, I meant 'rocks', of course.

What I meant was that Scrubs rocks.
