Scare tactics? Unyielding ideological views?

You're describing yourself Barrack. The time for bickering is over? So the debate is "over" in your mind?

I think this thread undermines your position on this point.

Yes, yes, by all means continue to attack the messenger, attempt to discredit and disregard the points made.

if you made points, that would be a start.

Read the damn OP.

OK - I outlined the meat of the speech and his goals.

Do you disagree with the end result? If so, make your point. Now this will require you to understand business, so try really hard.

Spidey, how could you possibly expect anyone to reason with you after how you behave in thread after thread? This is what happens when you behave like an idiot, people treat you like one.

Arguing with spidey is like arguing with a rotten bag of meat.

i understood everything just fine, thanks.

A sneak peek at Obama's speech reveals the following specific points, which sound really great, but the end game is the same - single payer, government controlled, healthcare and all the problems that go along with that.

nope

props on copy/pasting press releases

It sounds so perfect, doesn't it? Points 1-4 regarding insurance describe what is actually available today, it describes some of the best insurance plans available.
no, it doesn't

Likewise these plans are pretty darn expensive. Now, BY LAW, insurance plans must be super-duper cadillac plans. What do you think that is going to do to everybody's premiums?
depends on the final nature of the plan

So...given the plans and points raised by the pres. What would the end result be?

Focus on the insurance industry on reducing waste and fraud.

Any mention, or hint of reducing government waste and fraud? If not, it was a waste, and a fraud.

Alright - that entire OP was my own words, hell I was demanded to provide a link. Go google my OP and see what you come up with. Hell, go google just a single numbered point I made. I don't copy/paste shit without citing source.

Hell, go google a single sentence from my OP and see what you come up with.

"Instead of honest debate, we've seen scare tactics. Some have dug into unyielding ideological camps that offer no hope of compromise."
http://www.foxnews.com/politic...-dimming-hopes-senate/

Well, lets start with Mr. Presidents OWN scare tactics.

"Well the time for bickering is over. The time for games has passed. Now is the season for action."

"has led us to a breaking point"

"Everyone in this room knows what will happen if we do nothing. Our deficit will grow. More families will go bankrupt. More businesses will close."

"More Americans will lose their coverage when they are sick and need it most. And more will die as a result. We know these things to be true."

Really? Last time I checked anyone can walk into a hospital and get care regardless of their age, legal status, religion, gender, or ability to pay.

http://politicalticker.blogs.c...-we-will-call-you-out/

Sounds to me like Obama is the one peddling scare tactics.

this is the worst "official thread" i've ever seen. thanks to op for being unable to hold an honest discussion

I told McOwen this same thing 6-7 years ago. With loyal followers like you, your party doesn't need enemies!

"Everyone in this room knows what will happen if we do nothing. Our deficit will grow. More families will go bankrupt. More businesses will close."

The dems own CBO clarified Obama's stealth-care deform will be a budget buster. Like most tyrants Obama lies like a sociopath. He can talk crap right to your face and not blink. Lying and sounding sincere is Obama's greatest talent. Obama is pushing families and businesses right down the potty. He wants to crush US with deficits and taxes. I don't know how US survives another 3.5 yrs of this headcase.

DEATH PANELS!!!!!

How is that a scare tactic? We have seen death panels in the USA thanks to the great state of Oregon

There are no death panels in Oregon, dipshit. I should know, I've lived here in Oregon for most of my life.

The terrorists, the terrorists. Be afraid, very afraid.

There's a socialist under every bed. Be afraid, very afraid.

Small businesses will go bankrupt. Be afraid, very afraid.

If is succeeds, the republican party will continue its death spiral. Be afraid, very afraid.
