This is getting so insane. Seems home computing is basically out of reach now. As existing hardware ages or fails there is no real path to replacing it.

I'm still using my 1080 Ti from 2017...nearly TEN YEARS AGO lol.

I tried a Cloud GPU PC as a Service...was pretty good: (monthly fee to stream anywhere)

Let's say that you have a situation where most of what a given person tells you can safely be assumed to be Intentionally misleading. But mixed in with the lies, prevarications, etc., you also understand that some statements will be accurate. Of course, at the moment the statements are made, you have no way of discriminating.

How should you regard the accurate statements.

1. Assume that all statements are lies since even the true statements serve primarily to improve the "truthiness" of the lies. Put another way, if you can recognize at least some true statements as such, an average listener will, subliminally, give greater credulity to the lies.

2. You assume all statements are lies. Any you happen to recognize as true are just ignored - since in order to know that they are true, you had to have already been in possession of the relevant information.

I think that there are probably, at least a few more possible characterizations. So if you have one that might contribute to the discussion, let your wad fly.

Watched Buffy The Vampire Slayer for the first time last year, and recently finished a rewatch. That's the best shit ever, and has shot up next to Trek for my all time favorite shows. I was vaguely aware of it back in the day, and I remember thinking "That sounds like the dumbest shit ever...". If you gave me an overview, it wouldn't sound like anything I was interested in. It's a bizarre mix of story styles, with frequent brilliance. I had to readjust my brain to accept the way the stories progress, but it was worth the adjustment. Looking forward to my next watch through. Maybe late summer/fall. They're working on a new Buffy show, and I hope it doesn't suck.
Been thinking about why I like Buffy so much. The girls are super cute, but it isn't really a sexual thing. I think I might have a thing for girls that kick ass. Bobby was easily my favorite character from The Expanse. I think I like it cause it has a girl that kicks ass, and people coming together to accomplish a goal, just like Star Trek. It's also more approachable, cause I could fuckup some vampires *today*. It doesn't require elite level knowledge of mechanics and physics. The run of the mill vamps? I could handle those fuckers swinging an axe or machete. I've spent a large portion of my life swinging a blade. I wouldn't toy with them like Buffy did, but I could get the job done.

It's also grounded on earth. Working at night in a misty cemetery? That's about as close to heaven as you can get. A strong contender against Voyager for where I'd want to spend my time.

Ha, related, was talking to my son this weekend, he didn't really get into Trek until after he moved out... on Saturday he says "So what do you think of Tuvix?"
I thought about it for a moment, and said "You know, I'm sure I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. It sounds like something you made up. Never heard of a Tuvix."
He was amused.

Boss's girlfriend got a lung transplant. I had to grit my teeth and text a query on how she's doing. Still alive thank christ. Not doing terrific, but still alive. Hopefully the improvements keep coming, but it's making me anxious.

I posted in another thread about laying on the ground for a nap with my daughter on top of me. A couple times I was laying in mud. Made me remember something a kid told me when I was about 10...

"Dirt wouldn't be dirty if people didn't walk on it"

That's an interesting take :^D Thinking about it, I'd have liked to probe him on the nature of dirt and hygiene. At the time, I just let it go, but it kind of locked my brain for a second. I guess that's why I remember it.

Crushed red pepper is the worst. I'm pretty sure it's just decorative. Gives you something to do to the food, but has zero effect on the flavor, and makes the texture slightly worse. Black pepper is spicier :^S

AI images are basically a game of "point out everything that's wrong".

- Shower has no P trap
- Toilet pipe is not actually connected to the toilet
- Water gushing out of the toilet bowl
- No vent
- Serious high pressure leak in the sink pipe.
- They tiled the wall below where the slab is poured
- Toilet has no lid but has 2 seats.

I like it in tomato sauce, it adds a little zing. Has to actually be in the sauce to really be effective though, putting it on top of cheese isn't very effective.

I've been aware of Flatiron for some time, but haven't had the opportunity to try. Probably wouldn't go for one with ghost pepper, my spice tolerance went down when I changed meds a few years back.
