Don't know who that is but long covid must really be some sort of living hell. Glad she beat it. 🙂

If you've never had any reason to check it out before, search for "world history encyclopedia." I'm not very familiar either, but it seems that I'm a "follower" and so it pops up on FaceSpace on the regular.

Today they had a post about the ancient Akkadian empire - the very first multinational/multicultural empire on the planet - from roughly 23xx to 2154 BCE (before the common era). They were the precursors to Sumeria, Assyria and of course, the evil harlot of Babylon (the Old Testament is very unkind to the Babs).

Got an email from the company I buy pumpkin seeds from. Didn't look like anything new, but I clicked over to the site anyway to look it over. I'm reading the ad copy on the roasted seeds, and they specify 'no seed oil' for production. I don't buy the anti seed oil woo in any case, but isn't that nullified when you're buying seeds? Pretty sure they inherently contain seed oil. I guess that's "natural" oil, and Healthy™. It's only the "added" oil that's harmful.

I wish evolution made being stupid physically painful. A lot of times it does, but it's so far removed from the incident of stupidity, it isn't associated with it. It's like kicking your dog the day after he shit on the floor. He has no idea what he did to trigger the rage.

My Bose clock radio has the right time, but I didn't set it. I might've overlooked it from the last stupid time change, but I'm not sure. I don't know if it has autoadjust features built in. I don't play close attention to my regular clocks. I use computers for my time keeping, and they're all network adjusted. I guess I'll see in the fall if it stays correct.

It's plausible it could get the time from the same place my weather clock gets the time and weather from, and that you set the appropriate timezone some time ago.

I like this pic someone got of me playing harmonium at our show on Saturday.

Using the bird app on my phone, I got hits for red tailed hawk, and red shouldered hawk on two different caws. It was a blue jay. Nice job at mimicry.

Listening to the Why Files podcast. I don't even know why it's on my phone. I subscribed to it at some point, but I don't remember when or why. It's a bunch of insanity :^D It's some kind of strange stories, conspiracy theory, "hidden knowledge" sort of thing. The stories are engaging, but I don't believe a bit of it.

They had some guy on that's involved in Kensington Stone, Knights Templar, Atlantis(!?)... and he said something's supposed to happen June 6, at 6 o'clock this year, so mark your calendars. It's some kind of prophesy, but I question the 6 o'clock time stamp. Which time zone is that? Does it account for DST?? I was having trouble following the narrative. It seemed to require pre knowledge I don't have, where they're getting meaning from things I'm not privy to.

Anyway, I like the short payoff time. I'm gonna stick the date in my phone, and see if anything happens. Anyone want to take any bets?

edit:
Just put it in my phone, and it falls on a day I clean the cat fountain. Maybe that's the prophesy. That's not exciting :^D

edit2:
A new event for the calendar! Aug 12 this year at 14:00UTC gravity will cancel on earth due to converging gravitational waves hitting earth. That'll be fun! :^D

edit3:
Awe... That last edit was just speculative fiction. I was looking forward to losing gravity :^(

I sometimes wander around the office just to move around on night shift and at least get a bit of exercise and change of scenery. Noticed a puzzle in progress on someone's desk in another part of the office. It's kind of tempting to continue it, person would be wondering if they're going crazy or what. "I don't remember doing this section?"

My weekly facial shave took roughly 22 minutes to complete.

And I have some sort of "bump" on my chin that got a slight cut and bled. Just a little bit. Still annoying.

Don't judge me but the first thing that popped into my head was "nice hand to give a hand massage to" 😛
I mean, it's not out of character for you to say. Definitely a good thing I didn't post the whole band photo though.

I really like dehydrated soup. It's got nothing going for it nutrition wise, but it's nice and salty. Easy to eat when I don't really feel like eating anything in particular. Dinner tonight was Lipton chicken noodle soup with some added egg noodles, I have packs of soup mix from some east bloc country(don't feel like getting up to check) that I got from biglots. A couple of those tasted really good, but again, not much going for nutrition. Still nice to have every so often.

I definitely went through my share of Lipton soup when I was younger, don't think I've bought it in 15+ years though.
Yea, it's newish for me this time around. I hadn't had any in a few years. Just kind of forgot about it. I go through short spurts where it's the best thing ever, then get it out of my system til I remember it again.

AFAIK, Justanswer.com has reset their multi-years standing IP bans, because I'm no longer perma-banned there by IP. I don't, and won't, participate on that site, but google gives me search hits there from time to time, so each time I click one, I'm reminded that the owner is an asshat. He has/had a personal grudge that I got over years before he did.

The problem with a typical 2nd/3rd tier $179 50" TV is that if you use it much, you'll likely end up with a higher cost:year of use before it prematurely fails.

I don't see the value in Lipton soup when you can just get a 12 pack of cheap chicken flavored ramen noodles for $2-3. There's no chunks of chicken but there's hardly any in the Lipton either.

I put out the garbage and recycling bin at the street earlier this evening, then went to take a drive ~3 hrs. later and found that someone had moved the recycle bin to the middle of the end of the driveway, blocking the driveway so I had to move it.

Can't think of any reason why it happened. It wasn't on the grass, sidewalk or street, I don't have any beefs with the neighbors, and I don't leave food particles in anything (so it doesn't stink or draw critters into the garage while sitting for a week) so there was nothing an animal would've been interested in dragging away.

The only thing that seems plausible is that someone might've been taking their dog for a walk, then the dog took a dump next to the recycling bin, so the walker moved it out of the way to collect the feces in the dark, then left the bin where they moved it, which is sort of a jerk thing to do since it was then blocking the driveway. I suppose that beats having a turd to deal with.

I did a good bit of driving today, and saw a fair number of trump signs/flags. I would think people would be too embarrassed at this point to leave that trash in the yard. First term? Ok, I can kind of see it. If I was especially stupid, and my family tree looked like a gin pole, I could see voting the second term, but after seeing the results of that election?! What kind of thought process says "Yea, this all looks about right, and we're heading down the right path"???
