Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone knew of or had ideas as to what pointing device might be easier on arthritis sufferers. My dad's arthritis is getting worse, and it really bothers him to use the touchpad on his laptop as well as a normal size mouse (like microsoft intellimouse size.) The best I could come up with was maybe an intellimouse explorer would be big enough to not bother him...but I figured if anyone might know, here would be the place. Thanks.

some kind of pen pointing device.. maybe he could hold one in a way that wouldnt hurt his hands.. be like a pointing stick.
if nothing else maybe invest in some good voice recognition software (for christmas maybe?)

Microsoft or logitech thumb ball would be my recommendation, alternating with a finger ball mouse every so often. Just like changing positions in a chair, changing mice will help a chronic problem like that. I have a friend who learned autocad after getting his hands smashed up, and changing devices frequently was the only way he could do it.

Try Wacom's Graphire - pen and tablet plus cordless mouse. Use mouse for macro moves and pen for micro moves.
