point system for fantasy football on yahoo

i am the commish of a head-to-head league and was wondering if other people changed the default settings for the point system, and what u would suggest changing them too

I would leave them alone. Except add something for game winning field goal if it is an option. ESPN allows that if a field goal is kicked under 2 minutes remaining and it puts a team ahead, it is considered to be a game winning. My roommate played in that league and saw 4 games decided by it. 2 of which he played in.

I changed them b/c they are too TD heavy in my opinion. I would change it to 15 yards=1 pt (instead of 20 or 25) for RB and WR. And a simlilar thing to that for QB (maybe 30 yards=1 pt rather than 50). Because I like to reward the yardage guys instead of goaline TD mongers. Other people say TDs are what win a game in real life so that default system is fine....but they are wrong, my system is better 🙂

Return points can really mess up a league. There will be someone bitching about them guaranteed, once they find out that you can get easy points with return yards. Alot of these return guys can get 200 yards a game if their defense is really terrible. 200 yards at 10 or 20 yds a point is alot of points. That doesn't even take into account the return td's. So my advice is to stay away from that stat.

You may want to consider putting in some points for completions and receptions in addition to yards. I am in a pool where one completion = one reception = 1 point.

I think this is far too much, but 1/4 point might be appropriate.
