Point of slot blower

If the 6800 gt blows onto the heatsink as someone told me then is there a point to having a slot blower that blows out of the case?

The blower will suck hot air out of your case and that's always a good thing. Doesn't matter if it's directly or indirectly.

It depends, the slot blower will fight against your GT if you put them next to each other, resulting in less air flow into the heatsink. You would increase overall cooling at the expense of reduced cooling locally at the GPU, which is probably not what you want. A hot case with a hot GPU is better than a warm case with a burning GPU IMO.

loud for what u get. blowers not that great. came out as an early easy to install cooling solution for pos cases.

Hmm I have a free slot above my agp slot I guess i could put it there or maybe I'll put it under my sound card. Too bad I can't easily turn the thing upside down : (

Just wait for the NV silencer to come out. It sucks air from inside the case over the hs and out the back of the case.

The stock setup (I have a PNY 6800GT) sucks air from inside the case, blows it across the gpu hs and back into the case (and it DEFINITELY raised my case temps).

With the AC design, it will exhuast the hot air out of the case (as opposed to back into the case and potentially back onto the videocard.
