i'm looking for a 120x25 or x38mm fan for the rear exhaust of my lian li v1000b case. it will accompany a scythe ninja cooled by a 1500rpm Adda.

i'm looking to spend up to max $25 shipped for one.

please provide me with the name of the fan and the cheapest link you find for it. thanks guys 😎

oh yea 1 more question:

Delta 120x38mm fan that requires 3.0Amp to startup, will i be abple to power up this fan connected to a Sunbeam Rheobus? will it undervolt without losing power?

Hi,

Excuse me... but why do you want a 120mm fan that runs at 3000 rpm.

I'm not convinved any such animal exists, but if it did it would horrendously loud, and push an amount of air that is utterly OTT.

The actual airflow needed to cool a typical modern computer is abot 20-30 CFM, and a 120mm fan will shift that at 1000 - 1500 rpm.

eBuyer seels entirely adaquate 120mm fans for about $1.40. Why pay more?

Peter

Way overkill. And per channel output of the Sunbeam Rheobus is 1.6 amps. Not nearly enough to drive it at full speed, and question if you could start it at all. In my Lian Li G70B, I'm using the following fans:
Sanyo Denki 120x38mm -- intake
Sanyo Denki 120x38mm -- exhaust
Sanyo Denki 120x38mm -- CPU
Delta Triple Blade 120x25mm -- blowhole
Delta Triple Blade 120x38mm -- side panel

All fans except for the blowhole are going to be on a controller, and the blowhole will be on a switch (just on / off). Even these fans are overkill, but they undervolt nicely, and will rarely (if ever) be run at full speed.

EDIT: And I'll be damned if I ever spend $1.49 on a fan--just because it's $1.49--that cools my computer. Maybe a fan on the crack rack, but never on my cased rigs.

Hi,

Is $140 too expensive or too cheap.

They are actually the same fans as some of the more expensive (branded) ones; but purcahsed direct from the factory in China.

The price difference is what the middle-men and re-badgiong are costing you.

Peter

I would never spend $1.49 just because the fan is $1.49. I get whatever fans fits the need, and pay the necessary cost. Not vice versa. If a fan that I required was $1.49, then that might be different, but I would never limit myself to purchasing cheaply priced fans. This all stems from when I was doing the UV thing on my machine, and I bought 10 UV LED fans, and about 3 of them stopped working over the course of 6 months. So I stick with fans of proven quality now...

120mm x 3000RPM = self propelled PC. Yuo'd have to tie that baby down or it would scoot along 'til it came unplugged (or fell off the desk)!

Hi,

Totally agree, you want something reliable.

However these fans are absolutely fine - I've had 100s and not a single failure so far. And that being the case, why pay more.

Peter

yea i wont be investing in any $1.50 fans. please recommend me some more fans @ around 3000rpm that will be able to be controlled by the sunbeam rheobus

Monster fan. 220 CFM, 4600 rpm, 65 dBa, 2.45 amps. Won't work with Sunbeam Rheobus though....
Delta FFB1212VHE. 151 CFM, 3200 rpm, 53 dBa, 1.00 amps. That one will work with your Sunbeam Rheobus.

will i be able to install the Delta fan u linked as in intake? i know some fans dont work as intakes because the motor's in the way..

It can be mounted either way. I've never heard of any issues of these types of fans being mounted either way.

thermalFx has one of those Sanyo 120x38 fans for $15. shipped on eBay - great fans (I'd say it is in the running for best ever made in its category) and you won't find one for less (you can find these for sale used, with Froogle, for upwards of $80.!). The one on eBay comes with bare leads, but he'll put a standard 3-pin fan connector on it for not much. These make excellent exhaust or radiator fans, but the fan hub is so big it has quite a hot spot for CPUs and intake/HDD cooler uses
. Then there is the NMB SmartFan on bgmicro.com. just bypass the thermistor on it and you'll ge full speed. Works fine on a controller. I've used it with both the Sunbeam and the CM Aerogate 3 just fine.
. And there are probably some Deltas on sidewindercomputers.com that will hit near 3k if you really need...

There are some fan cantrollers that can handle that 3 Amp fan, but the Rheobus isn't one of them... 1.5A (18 to 20W) is about it for under $50. fan controllers.

I have a Silverstone 120mm that does about 2750 rpm and it's absolutely intolerable at that speed. You can hear it from across the house. Unless you're building a server that you'll never have to be in the same room as, I would rethink your plan.

well i dont think i will be able to hear anything while gaming or playing my music (usually at high volumes)... i'll also have my sunbeam rheobus to lower fan speeds...

If a Yate Loon fan was the one that I was looking for, then . I buy a fan to fit the need, budget be damned.

AHAHAHAHAHAHA couldnt say it better myself. I think name is more important then price. And jab-tech has had sales on yates for 1.79 min order 5. But for 1.79!!!

You cant beat the price/performance on a yate priced that low.
