POGS - SkyNet has run out of work

Apparently the project admins are having problems loading the next batch of data sets for galaxies to be modeled, so the project has run out of work. I have only a couple machines with work still in the queues to be completed (that won't expire before the deadline), so I've been switching them over to the Rosetta@Home project in the mean time.

Edit: 1 rig finished its work for POGS and is now on the EDGEs project for TA.

Ehhhh....it's a touchy project. I seldom see more than 50% tasks in cue than I have cores to run with, and ONCE I've caught a 7 thread machine only running one WU. I check frequently when home, and that's the only time I've seen the "Just in time" WU delivery fail me.

That said, I do NOT like "just in time" delivery, as it obviously has failed you, and probably the rest of us when we're not looking.

Don't give up hope, but by all means a secondary project is a good idea.

Well, with SkyNet/POGS still not having work available, and EDGEs being less than optimal, I've switched everything to Rosetta for the time being.

Yea I wondered why my rig went quiet the week, apparently their now waiting for data from the telescope(s?).
Anyway I went to switch to Asteroids & they had now WUs either! And LHC too! (they do now), so I have also temporarily switched to Rosetta.

It gives me a chance to break in my new rig. And the sooner beta gets done, the sooner we have work in the main site.

As I write this, there are 1205 WU's left on the beta. That is 201 cores for 24 hours to finish everything up.
I have 2.5 days' worth loaded for my 8 cores and I haven't been getting any wingmen with valid results.

So, if you have a couple of cores sitting around, sign them up for a day. No Credit is Awarded!

I saw that, & I am tempted to help, but the lack of credit is off putting. Especially as I only have 1 rig crunching 24/7.

So at that rate it would take the 77 users 21.8 days to crunch all the ~9.6k WUs (not accounting for partly crunched WUs for the 'in progress' WUs).
For tasks 'ready to send' only, it would take ~8 days.

Hmm, if that doesn't come down over the next day or 2 (beyond that time ) then I'll put a couple of cores on it.

The credits are maintained. They just are not made available to the stats sites. And they won't be transferred to the main project.

It is not BOINC credit that counts for the TeAm. What you see is only temporary.

Ah ok, well seeing as I'm only really crunching on 1 rig I'll pass for now, but I'll pitch in if the time to finish them ends up a long time ahead.
