anyways, i love poetry. ive been writing and reading since i was about 11. I also like to write song lyrics, which is poetry in itself anyhow.

if youre interested in spoken poetry, check out Def Poetry Jam on youtube. that shit is amazing! some of it is extremely moving, some is funny, some is strictly for performance. Poetry can seriously be performance art and that is when i think its at its best!

heres a clip to get you started.... hes on the geek level hehe

Def Poetry Jam is AWESOME!

linky to poem Louis Reyes Rivera - "Bullet Cry" - one of the craziest performances I've seen. I could watch this 1,000 times and still be wowed every time.

linky to poem "Elementary" NSFW

I'M GOING TO BE A FUCKING TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLE! - lol

I have all the DVD, so many jaw dropping poems.

I'm just curious as I've been involved in the art scene in most places I've ever lived. But it seems everywhere I go, poetry seems to be going the way of the mime.

Wait, are you telling me that mimes are finally disappearing? Praise the lord!

I love poetry. Especially the type that begins

There once was a man from Nantucket . . .

Not so much disappearing as much as universally panned.
