I had a Jornada 567 until I tired of all the f*&king dust (and 4 replacements)!:|

See my horror story here.

I had actually read your story there before. I even suspected it was you. I too have been accumulating dust, but so far it hasn't been awful enough to worry about. My plan is to just ride out this model until the X-Scale units come out, get a warranty replacement of the Jornada to get clean one and sell it to buy an X-Scale. As you well know, the Jornada is probably one of the best designs if not for the dust.

I considered buying the HP model and now I'm glad I didn't. Does someone have a pic of the dust under the screen?

The Jornada has the advantage of light weight and the flip cover. Other than that, I prefer the Maestro. The Jornada is too long IMHO and it just feels cheap. And the paint chips VERY easily on it.

iPAQ 3635

- CF expansion
- 256MB CF card
- 8MB CF card
- Targus keyboard

I drool at all the new breeds of PocketPCs coming out. I am trying hard to wait until a model with X-scale and built-in phone comes out. I am carefully following that Toshiba one. :)

Hey, where do you guys download free software for your PocketPCs? Any killer apps?

BTW, I have an Audiovox Maestro w/ a 128MB Mr. Flash CF Card stuck in it.

Hey NFS4, have you found a good case yet? The bundled one is crap. I like slim leather cases not those huge portfolio, zipped things that make it not fit in your pocket anymore.

1. CASIO EM500 + 64MB MMC + Wireless modem connector for Samsung PCS phone. (sold it here)
2. Ipaq 3765 + auto/USB charger (sold it here again after only a month)
3. Audiovox Maestro w/out any accessories (tired of buying extra charging unit, so I give it to my wife)

Paul:

I found Sony Clie's slim case PEGA-USC11 fit perfectly w/ AudioVox Maestro. (check your local CircuityCity, last week they still have it on sale for $19.95 instead of $39.95)

I have a 32MB (seems tiny in this thread ;)) CF card...

NFS4, how long did it take you to notice the dust... I've had my HP for about a month now and haven't had any dust problems...

Went to Circuit City today and picked up the Sony Slim Case PEGA-USC11 for $9.99 + tax!
Tag on shelf said $39.99 but scanned at $9.99. I was surprised.
Like TimeKeeper says, this case fits the Audiovox Maestro perfectly.
