My wife and I hopped ship to a prepaid carrier + basic phones to save some scratch over our ridiculous sprint bills. Don't miss much at all other than the superior snaps from our old phone (especially indoors/low light).

Want something pocketable, have put a lot of research into this and the lx100 seems like a great choice but double our budget. What's a good budget (sub-$300) choice that will be a step up from the iphone?

After a similar set of questions I concluded that the answer was no. My budget would not get me a camera that would be better than my Note 5. My original budget was $200 and I ended up spending $439.00

This is what I got: https://smile.amazon.com/Panasonic-...UTF8&qid=1505418551&sr=8-5&keywords=lumix+gf7

You said you switched to another carrier and cheaper phones for your actual phone service. Do you actually still have the iPhone 7's? You could just keep the iPhones to use as Cameras and use them Wi-Fi only.

Thanks for your reply, I figured as much after hours of digging. Settled on an LX100 myself, but your camera looks smashing.

As for keeping the iphone 7 - tempting, but it's still financed and the carrier just sent me a return label, heading back

Now to be fair that is a camera with an interchangeable lens system, bigger sensor, better bokeh, and great high-ISO capability, so orders of magnitude better than any phone camera! Enjoy it! Even the best $800+ phone take shitty indoor photos at a single focal length with not subject separation.

So I realized I was being penny smart/pound foolish and just upgraded my wife to a pixel. My lg v10's really not bad with the lx100 to fill in for like school functions.
