I'll be up in Poca, WV next week for a few days ...

Never been to WV and was just wondering if anyone is near there and knows of any places to check out at night after done workin' for the day ...

If I remember correctly, I think there is a country club up there (Scarlet ??).

Charleston, the capitol, is about 25 minutes away to the west and Huntington is 45 minutes to the East. Huntington is home to Marshall University (movie: we are Marshall). Good college bars and a couple of redneck bars.

Charleston has cute girls but are pretty redneck.
 
Yeah, I try to avoid anything much farther south than Fairmont. Now if you were heading to northern WV I could totally give you some tips.

You arent far off, I'm from WV and their school mascot is the Poca DOT

I am not kidding in the least. Its a small town but not far away in Fayette county (Ansted/Hico area) there is some of the best whitewater rafting in the world
 
WV has some beautiful scenery, but unfortunately the women aren't part of it.

Be aware when you're in the more rural areas (most of the state) that the stereotypes that exist about West Virginians are very, very real.

Dont listen to this guy, I've lived here most of my life (save for a 1 yr stint in gastonia, NC) and it isnt anywhere near as bad as people would make you think. True, the ladies here arent malibu/miami hot eveywhere you look but there are some attractive girls.

Racism exists sure but nowhere near on the scale that people make it out to be. Scenery is beautiful and the crime is low.

Sure there are stupid/uneducated people here, but there are people like that everywhere.

I've never seen anyone that goes around barefoot lacking teeth.
 
I spent 20 years in Cross Lanes which is right next to Poca and well there ain't shit there 🙂. I'm not a bar guy though. Living in Huntington now which is a dump and should be avoided. You can drive back and forth all day on Poca river road between Poca and Rock Branch. Its a fun little road and there are some good rednecks sights or atleast there use to be.

LMAO ... the hotel I'm at is in Cross Lanes ... one of the guys in training asked if anyone had approached me to buy meth. Apparently 'cross the bridge it gets rough ...

I think I'm gonna hit the dog track tonight for a good time ... last night here ...

Your right next to my parent's house. They live on the lake right across the road that you probably can't see 🙂. Stop by and tell them I sent you and they will give you a good deal on some meth.
