I've recently installed this card, and started to see random horizontal lines on my VGA LCD display. I first thought it was because I was overclocking my card (only 285/575mhz), but I ruled it out after seeing the same problem while under the mobo BIOS setup menu.
It does seem there are more random horizontal lines appear when I raise the refresh rate.
Do I have a lemon here?

How do you have a Ti4200? I thought they weren't out yet. Do you know something that we don't?

Doens't look like they're out yet. I just checked pricewatch and there was only one listed. That one had an ETA of late April early May.

I can't believe all you guys worry about is whether he has a ti4200 or not. Get a grip. This guy has a legit problem here.

I've got the same problem.
I have a PNY GeForce 4 Ti 4600 and it worked fine for a few hours. I was playing Unreal Tournament with my roomates and started getting little dots all over the screen, after aobut 15 minutes of this (I thought it was just something with the level, it was a MOD) the whole thing crashed, and blamo. The card didn't work anymore. I tried it the next day (today) and I get different random things from wierd colored letters in the post screen to complete guarbage.

Now for the bad news. This is the second PNY GeForce 4 Ti 4600 to do this in a week, less if you don't count shipping times!

I'm fairly sure it's not the PS or the Mobo, as the Mobo is brand new, and the card I'm using right now works fine. The PS is a PC Power and Cooling 425 or 475 watt, can't remember, been a long day.

Anyway, I'm gonna RMA the thing and get a different brand (if they'll let me that is) I'm tired of this.
Moral of the story, stay away from PNY!!!!

That sounds like a heat related problem (lines across the screen, etc) usually atributed to overclocking the card. I would guess that either the GPU heatsink was improperly installed (too much thermal gunk or it's not on properly, etc etc), or perhaps the memory is overheating. They might have also put RAM which cannot run at its rated speed stably (which happens sometimes with these very high-speed memory modules).

What's the cooling like in your case, and what is the ambient room temperature?

Either way, it is not your fault (unless you're overclocking), unless your room or case are ridiculously hot. You should get a working, problem free replacement from PNY, especially considering the $$$ you paid for it.
