I want to buy me a 6600gt agp but i dont know wich video car buy because the xfx is expensive than the PNY Verto nearly 60$ but i see that the XFX is fater than the PNY I want to know if it is true please help me

My pc:
Athlon 64 3000+(soket 754)
2x512mb of ram
Western Digital sata 120gb
epox motherboard 8KDA3J

ahh, u forgot Gainward!! if you can find one...they pwn!! MSI, Leadtek also great!

BFG and XFX are walmart crap-cards....avoid them at all costs

I have yet to see BFG have any problems, and the reports are that their customer service and warranty are fantastic.

Sure you didn't mean XFX and PNY?

They both suck and try and get you with cheap prices.

BFG rocks, he has to be smoking good cheeba.

It sounds like the original poster only shops bricks-and-mortar stores. For a good time, visit www.NewEgg.com www.ZipZoomfly.com and www.MonarchComputers.com

The BFG brand has the best customer support in the industry from what I can garner with a lifetime replacement warranty. The quality of PNY and XFX are questionable. PNY is basically regarded as a junk brand around these parts--something you could find at a local store.

Well, from all the mixed answers here, looks like nobody really knows. Try another forum where people TRULY know. Cause I must not know either. 😀

J/K.

The only brand I have heard of that is complained most about is XFX and MSI.
All the others are just fine.

I had a 6800 GT from PNY it was great. XFX is popular but they also seem to have the most problems.

yeah i have an xfx. not smart. i was shocked at the poor quality. but i havent had any problems with it at least...

yet.

I know i'm not the majority, but i love my XFX 6800nu. Softmodded no problem and its sitting very stable at 420 core 810 mem right now, pulling 5k in 3dmark05. I havn't heard of anyone complaining about XFX 6800nu's, but supposedly the XFX 6800GT's are crap. I'd play it safe and get an eVga or BFG.

BFG probably has my nod overall, but I wouldn't turn away from either PNY or XFX (although I lean toward the XFX).

My XFX 6800nu is doing fine so far. I hear alot of complaints on their 6600gt cards. I have heard alot of bad about PNY.

i would nod toward BFG or Gainward...both kick a$$. My friend had a horrible time with PNY 6600GT so i wouldnt recommend that!! XFX is also a load of crap!!

you have 7 posts and you spout stuff like "XFX is also a load of crap"?
Do you have any proof to back that up?

To the OP, if its the 6600GT your interested in, i would definantly say BFG.

Interesting, it seems like everytime someone brings up XFX, there seems to be a onslaught of .."I heard that...is bad" or "it's garbage..." or as someone puts it "walmart crap cards.." and here's a good one "...basically regarded as a junk brand around these parts--something you could find at a local store" oh my god!! you bought that at a store??!? ewww (turns up nose)

Seems like most responses that trash a certain brand is mostly hearsay and provides no proof. These "legends" are spread through threads like this with 90% of the information opinions and not actual stats. I will be doubtful until someone here shows me proof that one brand such as XFX is worst than others. How is it worst than another. Please dont post with a ..." I had a friend... yada yada." and please dont blame the mfg for card failure when you push it out of specs (as someone have posted in the past).

Come to think of it, I have never had any video card fail nor do I know anyone who has dating back to the triden cards.

If you want proof, hover around the video forums all day and watch the threads. Video card problem threads BY FAR have been XFX. I also don't trust PNY because of the CompUSA debacle where a good handful of people were reporting floating capacitors in their boxes, in addition to blurry 2D quality. When you get people complaining of poor 2D quality on their cards, that can sometimes be a sign of cheap components.

To add some more fuel to the fire, I just sold my MSI 6600gt, which ran for a couple of days, then caught fire in the buyers computer. 3 month old card. Never overclocked.
