they also have the PCI version for $35 AR, which i think is better for the people that had integrated graphics. The rebate goes to RebatesHQ.com as well, so that is better.

Wish another site sold it for cheaper so I can use AMEX BVG on it

TD always finds a way to kill your rebate.
It does NOT matter where it goes, or who sponsors the rebate, they will kill it.

In this example, look at the description:

Note: Includes driver CD, ships in promotional packaging.

In this case, rebates may get rejected because UPC code will not match, even though it states OEM.

Or, they will use their standard rejection scam, and say that the receipt is not valid for this rebate offer.

The only way you should buy from TD is if the price shipped before rebate is still very very good.
Here it would be $49.99 + $9.43 to ship it around the block, + FL tax for me, and it's end cost is around $65.
You can get a much better card delivered for $65.
One last point is even "IF" you are one of the rare ones that actually receives a rebate, buyers should still
not reward these type of rip-off companies with any future purchases. I would spend 30% more elsewhere
before rewarding these scam artists. Don't keep supporting them by giving them more chances. Stop the scam.

Still have doubts?
Do a search on the Web for Tiger Direct.
here's a start:
Ripoffreports
Consumer affairs
Tiger Direct Sucks!

Also, PNY sucks for rebates as well.
Many of us are fighting for our rebates on memory bought from BB.
They changed all of our info, and are denying rebates.
So with the Tiger Direct Ultra risk, combined with the PNY risk, added to prior abuse by TD, and this is a cold deal (IMHO).

I figured I'd give it a try. Looking at Tom's VGA Charts, the GF4MX440 competes well with the Radeon 7500 in most areas. Although this is the slightly slower 440-SE, plus the fact that is PNY, and its probably a dog even for a MX440. lol!

I've gotten in the habit of filling out all the forms, then gathering up all the required materials, taking them up to Office Max, making two photocopies of all the materials on the same sheet of paper. I then write at the top of one sheet 'Photocopy of ALL materials included in the envelope with this rebate submission', sign and date it, put it the envelope, then keep the other for myself.

Its a major biiitch, yes.

I bought this card from TD 6/23 ( swore never again but needed a cheap 3d ) on the april to 6/30 rebate. Just got an email today saying denied because it was not in the time frame allowed. I mean really - dated reciept of 6/23 offer expires 6/30 and denied, required postmark of 14 days and probably postmarked in 7. Of course I'll resubmit copies, but come on why is it always thru tigerdirect I have to go through this. Fair warning, love the deal but only if the rebate comes thru........

I've purchased several times form TD over the years, but have never purchased a rebate item. Whenever I had to call to them about a problem or need further information on an order I felt the slime ooze through the phone! I order tech products for the company I work for and I vowed never to use them again, even before I heard about the scams they pulled. When I heard about the scams I knew that the feeling I had dealing with them was right on. Do yourself a favor - do not buy from them, do not post their products. I have to RMA products all the time. Never had a problem with the traditional good companies like Fry's Staples OD OM Newegg Computergeeks SVC CC Best Buy and many others. I can imagine trying to get an RMA or rebate from TD. Your nightmare has only begun....

I've ordered two after rebate items in the 2 months ago from TD and I've gotten the rebates back in a timely fashion(4-5 weeks). One of the items was a pny video card and the other was a cd-rw drive. Both were manufactorer rebates.

Well I got mine, but it was DOA. So I had to box it up and ship it back to TD.

IT FIGURES!

1. It's a PNY rebate, not a TD rebate. It goes to "PNY Rebate Center" in Miami, FL just like PNY rebates for items you buy anywhere.
2. The rebate form has both OEM and retail products on it. The UPC will match either way, both are listed on the same form.
3. The TD invoice lists the item as their own item no "P56-2640" and the description doesn't say refurb or oem: "PNY GeForce4 MX440se 64MB DDR AGP Video Card"

I ordered one of these last month (6/11/03, they shipped a brand new retail boxed version) and rebateshq.com shows it was already received and is valid:
Rebate: $30.00 Rebate Check
Rebate Information For: xxxxxx xxxxxxx xxxxx
Promotion: 03-56160 PURCHASE SELECT PNY PRODUCTS AT TIGERDIRECT.COM
Submission Type: MAIL
Date Received: 06-30-2003
Status: Processing Rebate
Status Detail: Your rebate is valid and is in the final stages of processing and should be sent to you within the next 30 days.

I haven't had problems receiving any PNY rebates. All have come in the expected amount of time.

Every single time there's a Tiger Direct post, we get someone saying:
"Duuuh, I never had any problems, duh."

Then we have average Joe reading the thread saying
"See, he never had any problems, see?"

Then we see Joe placing an order with Tiger Direct because of that.

Finally, a couple of weeks after a Tiger Direct deal is posted we get something like tcsenter's post above:

I ordered one.... and they sent me two. So far only charged for one. They are pretty screwed up. They also sent me a note saying they had upgraded me to the SE version, when in fact that is exactly what I ordered. The second card they sent on accident is the NON SE version... so I will be able to get two rebates.

Watch out your credit card statement. Good luck with TD, you'll need it.

I got mine in the retail box, which was much better than I expected since it says oem packaging. I recieved it about a week after ordering. The card works great.

For all rebates, make copies of everything before you mail it in, and you should have no problem. I must have sent over 40 mail in rebates over the years, and I have gotten every single one that I can remember, except one from that company that went bankrupt - cyberrebate.com i think it was called. When I don't get my rebate, I just call the phone number listed on the rebate, fax in the copies of everything I made, and they send it out.

does tigerdirect still whore out your personal info? I really need a new video card. It's a little reassuring that the rebate is from PNY and not TD.
