PNY 8800 GTX RMA?

Just a quick question if I was to RMA this card what would I get back since it has been deactivated for 2 years now?

If they're anything like other companies you'll get what would be a comparible model in today's terms (and almost assuredly a "reconditioned" return from someone else). If they're generous, a GTX 260. If not, a 9800 GTX+. After building PCs since 2002 I finally had a video card burn out on me (a five month old EVGA GTX 260). I'm contesting the RMA I was sent yesterday. Mine was pristine - the one they sent looked like it had beat to death in a dozen different PCs in its short life. Scuffs, scratches, peeling labels. Basically, expect the worst and be ready to fight.

PNY has long been vilified for their warranty wording, and their 'limited lifetime' warranty is apparently only two years after the initial release date of a product.

More PNY warranty issues

I hope you are able to have them deal with your card, so keep us informed on what happens. I wouldn't buy any PNY cards at even a very reduced price based on that warranty issue.

The last three people who received that card from the RMA department didn't take good card of it either.

That doesn't sound like most of the experiences I've heard of about EVGA's service though. Normally they're seen as the best-of-the-best for their service & policies. Please keep us posted on your ongoing experience also.
