PM with Staples

spanky

this is not a HOT deal or anything, but just a clarification notice. from my experience with staples, when u try to price match, u have to factor in "next day shipping cost" into the price. so for example, for example, lets say Spankys has MousePro for $50, and staples has MousePro for $80. staples will acknowledge that Spankys has a lower price, but then they will see how much it would cost u to get MousePro with next day shipping. if next day shipping from Spankys cost $25, then your price from Spankys will be $75. staples will match $75, not $50. as far as i know, i don't think staples gives u the option to choose ground shipping to avoid the high cost of next day shipping. i see a lot of deals posted by people on forums about PM'ing with staples, but has anyone really been able to get around the "next day shipping cost" factor? whenever i calculate next day shipping into the price of another vendor, the price usually ain't so great anymore. if i am wrong, someone please correct me, as i really wish i knew how to cash in on some of these HOT staples PM's.

A lot of the time it just depends on the CSR you get on the phone. Also, the FIRST thing you should do when you call Staples is ask them how long it will take them to get this item to you. If they answer anything other than overnight, you've got 'em...when they try to stick you with overnight shipping charges, remind them that they are not providing you with overnight shipping.

One other tip that I haven't tried myself is pricematching in the actual B&M store. Bring a printout of the webpage you want to PM with. I believe their policy is to add $5 for shipping if the shipping charge is not immediately obvious.

According to their Pricematching Policy they include next day shipping charges. If you don't like it then don't pricematch with them. I guess if your lucky enough to get a friendly CSR like Blakwngbrd suggests you might get around it but like I said that's just their policy. I used to PM to Onvia all the time. They had decent prices and free shipping. 😉

And as Hawkeye suggests this isn't a Hot Deal so it shouldn't be posted here. That's Anand's policy. 😛
