Meh. I have no problem with this model, she's beautiful, and that's cool that she's being published. But is anyone else getting tired of all this "yeah! stick it to those evil magazines for publishing pictures of hot, thin girls all the time, those bastards!" stuff that always permeates these stories? Women whine so fucking much about the fact that the media portrays "unrealistic" images of beauty. Well, no duh. Male models are impossibly good looking too, and they're airbrushed to death as well. Somehow, guys seem to realize this and not starve ourselves over it. Sheesh.

It's also funny to me that all these magazines that have airbrushed beauties are largely owned and run by women, as well as purchased almost exclusively by women.

Not trying to start a misogynistic thread or anything. I just don't get this aspect of women.

She's hot.. and I'd rather see more girls shaped like her. No, I don't want fat chicks.. but I don't want those skinny boney girls most magazines pass for hot either.

It seems like magazines, television, the internet.. they all show ultra skinny chicks.. and sometimes pretty damn fat chicks.. What happened to the girl next door?

She's hotter and thinner than I am. I'd definitely hit it.

Waiting for all the male model millionaires with supermodel girlfriends and Ferraris to chime in.

I woulda thought plus size was bigger than that.

If comparing her to your everyday model she would be a plus size women but if you were to compare her to your average women she would be... well average.

She is very pretty in the face, she isnt "fat."

I love how fat women will latch on to this and say "See! We are beautiful!", when that girl is in the top .5% of size 12 women.

The last thing this country needs is attempted fat acceptance. This woman is far from fat, but she is being portrayed as some sort of whale.

She's a normal woman who also happens to be beautiful; she's only got the pooch because she's sitting and leaning slightly forward. She's not anything close to what I would call fat.

She reminds me of Elisabeth Shue. But that girl needs to work on her abs, she's got some nasty flappy abs. Did she recently give birth? That kinda looks like post birth flap.

Who is she? The video isn't loading for me.

That's because the file is too fat for your netbook, there, slim. 😛

This isn't really an example of it, but I am pretty tired of fat pride.

Being largely obese is disgusting and bad for you, and should not be encouraged. Nor is it what "real" people look like.

and being a size zero shouldn't be encourages either, but that's exactly what hollywood does. Both are bad for you, so many females damn near kill themselves to try to drop to a size 0 or 1. As for what "real" people look like, the USA would learn far closer to a big person than anyone small for the average. So a bigger person would accurately represent the look of America as opposed to a smaller/skinny person.

Not as many as those that die from obesity related health problems.

I never said to encourage a size zero, although there are many perfectly healthy women who fit in size zero clothes. What I stress that is that obesity should be as discouraged, if not more discouraged, as malnutrition/underweight problems. However, the dramatic opposite is true, with society frowning on skinny people and condoning obesity.

As far as your "real" rationalization goes, being fat and closer to the overweight national average doesn't make you any more "real" than a hot woman. It just makes you fat.
