Plug in second SATA drive = stuck on Verifying DMI pool data... ?

Hey there,

Whenever I plug my second sata drive (freshly NTSF formatted) into the secondary channel the computer halts during POST at "Verifying DMI pool data" and will eventually say BAD DISK etc...

Boots up fine without the second disk plugged in. I haven't set any jumpers or anything with the 2 drives, and they're not raid...

any ideas at all?

ASUS A7N8X deluxe
Maxtor 80gig sata 1 (primary)
WD 160 gig sata 2 (secondary)

Try plugging into a different sata port. Also make sure the motherboard isint set to boot off of the port you plug it into.

Only 2 ports, tried both, no dice.

How do you specify the sata channel to boot off in the bios?
