Pls Help with Blank screen

Hi,

I was trying to repair XP Professional and after it said will reboot after 15 seconds it does the following thing. First, I set up to boot from CD drive and save the changes exit from Boot setup. Then on the screen appears " Press any key to boot from CD..". I press the key and right after on the screen appears " setup is inspecting your hardware configuration". In about 5-10 seconds it disappears and all that have left is blank screen. It will not load the installation wizard from CD or Hard drive. In addition, I tried to start installation from my 2000 installation disk and it works, but not for XP Home. Any ideas, what is the problem?

No there are no scratches, it loaded properly till the repair screen but once it showed
C:\Windows and i pressed repair and when it came back screen was blank either i load it from hard drive or CD.
