(the machine has an onboard SIS530 video card
and i have choosed the AUTO in the BIOS setup
whcih means the new add-in card will disable
the onboard one)

AMDK6-2 500
96M RAM
IBM motherboard(acer)

i installed the TNT2 card on my IBM APTIVA but
in the BIOS setup menu the VIDEO INFORMATION
says: VIDEO RAM SIZE: 4MB. the TNT2 card does
have 32MB RAM.

later, when i installed the VOODOO3 2000 16MB card
on the same machine, the system notified me upon
start-up that the video memory size has changed.
and i entered the BIOS setup and saw that now
the VIDEO INFORMATION says: VIDEO RAM SIZE: 16MB.
and everything works fine.

but when i put the TNT2 card back on, the BIOS
setup says 4MB again.

the benchamrks for both TNT2 and V3 in my machine
are almost the same(using 3Dmark2000, 3Dmark99
and QUAKE3 demo001), but when i run some games
like Delta force2, the TNT2 card does not show
any acceleration and no 32-bit Z-buffer ability.
my conclusion is my MB is not working correctly
with TNT2 card and thus make it perform poorly.

(i tried with 2 different TNT2 card, one if
from Guillemot and another from CL)

anyone can help me??
thanks.

Hmm well if it works with the voodoo3 and not with the TNT2, that seems to be a compatibility issue here with the nvidia chipset. Have you tried updating your bios or going to IBM's website for help? I remember the Asus P2B motherboard i think, used to have problems with the Diamond Viper tnt2, until they released a patch for it.
