I think its 845. So that means I should have no problems with 9600 right?. =)

Thanks for all the info guys!!!! You really are a great help. I hope my son would enjoy his better graphics card for his birthday. Thanks

Looks like he has a P4.

Do you know of any AGP less P4 mobos?

Anyway, I would get your son another 256MB of RAM, that's another story to find out.

9600 XT is a great card.

Yea, go for the 9600XT and some extra ram, those two together will give your son a ver pleasant gaming experience.

thanks for the replies guys. i have finally checked the users manual of our motherboard. its a Gigabite P4 Titan GA-8IR2003 Intel 845 Chipset.
It has 1 AGP slot 4X (1.5V) device support
- 5 PCI slot supports 33MHz & PCI 2.2 compliant
theres one thing that bothers me though. pls stay on me on this one

theres this warning.

"Do not use AGP 2x card (3.3V) in this motherboard. It will burn and damage the motherboard due to Intel 845(E/G) / 850(E) chipset can't support AGP 2X(3.3V).

You guys said that 9600XT would have no problem with this motherboard but this bothers me.

I would just like to have a confirmation (again) if 9600XT is ok with this motherboard.

I trust you guys but this still bothers me. I wouldn't want to ruin anything because of incompatability.

Yup, it will work fine (the 9600XT). That's exactly what you want to hear - 3.3V (older) cards won't work - all of the new ones will.

Every one of those cards you mentioned will work great in your motherboard :) (with the 9600XT being the fastest from the ones you mentioned).
