... there was no 3pin to 2pin adpator included with motherboard (ECS n2u400a) or case (antec sonata).

Tried to buy at Fry's, Compusa, PC Club, Radioshack... but no one carries it.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Sure, here is a close-up photo of how you can move the wires in the plug: Canon A60 macro shot <img src=...smile.gif" border="0"> Lift the "leaf spring" that's retaining the wire, while gently pulling the wire out, and then slide it into the other hole.

Because LEDs are directional, if it doesn't light up when you've done this, then remove both wires and swap their positions (or flip the plug if its vacant hole has room).

Thanks for the quick reply and the pic.

Never knew you could pop those those retainers out.

I'll give it a shot.

No problem :) FYI, I saw you cross-posted to the Cases & Cooling section... cross-posting is sort of a faux pas so try to pick one section and give it a day, especially if it isn't a dire situation like needing to recover your doctoral thesis off a failed drive or whatnot ;)

Mechbgon,

Thanks for your advice. Now all 3 of my cases have fucntioning power LED. Guess I never looked at those headers carefully enough to realize they're so easy to remove.

I also edited the cross posts for deletion. Sorry about that.

Thanks again.
