My mom is going to buy me one for Christmas, but I want to find a cheap place for her to buy it at. I'm looking for the SCSI version of the Plexwriter 32X/12X/10X.. I've seen them around $300, but heard that there have been deals, from such places like onvida that offered it for $200!... any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Alright...I guess I'll be the first to say it...please post stuff like this under the IWANNA message topic.

It's not a problem...for me at least...some members get quite upset though when people post stuff like this outside the IWANNA section.

And to answer your question, Shopper.com lists the lowest price at $265, but the dealer (gogocity) isn't exactly well-loved around here...it looks as if around $300 might be the best price you'll be able to get it for...

I don't think you'll ever find a Plextor SCSI burnproof for $200. I think they're talking about the IDE version. You can get one for around $275 or something.

Hmmm, for $300 you could get the 16x Yamaha SCSI, wonder if burn-proof is really worth the money or if it's better to go with the faster drive.

yea i just ordered my christmas present, scsi plextor 12x, i would definately get it over teh yamaha, yamaha has issues, for one thing it does not truly write at 10x cdrw, but 8x, only 10x during packet writing. www.cdr-info.com has a review on the 16x.
