Plextor ultraplex problems...I need your help...please :(

Hi,

When I try to copy CD-to-CD from my plextor ultraplex40max to my HP9210 I always have the same problem...

I use adaptec CD copier and it seems that the software has some problem with my plextor drive. In both CD-copier and easy CD creator it is like if I was doing a refresh in windows explorer. The program cant stop refreshing and telling me that there is a problem. I need to crash the program with the task manager to stop it. BTW, I use windows2000.

I can install software with both drive (plextor and HP), I can play music with both (but I hear nothing because I dont have the cable to plug in the sound card) and, in fact, both drive are acting normally except when I try to copy CD or when I try to use adaptec software.

I've installed latest updates of adaptec easy cd creator and there is no drivers other than the one with win2k for my plextor drive. The drive is a new RMA.

I guess my problem is not the cable that I will plug in my sound card.
 
Have you tried other CD copying software, like Nero or CloneCD?

Some people have problems with Adaptec.
 
TTT...I am clueless on this one...I just read everything on plextor web site but I still dont know what to do.
 
I am actually trying CloneCD.

The trial version dont let me do CD-to-CD copy. At least it dont bug like easy CD creator when I open it.

If it is only a software issue then I have one thing to say : roxio (adaptec) wont make more money with me.
 
I tried ForceASPI but with no sucess...

CloneCD is working but this software is not copying from CD-to-CD. At least it is working now.

What I dont understand is that I use adaptec easy CD creator 3 weeks ago to backup data. Everything was fine but now I cant use it because when there is a CD in a drive, the software is having problems and I need to crash it....

I will erase that damn software and try to use other software.
