I just got some staples coupons in the mail, and this would be the perfect thing to use em on. Is the a B&M deal only?

HOLY SHIOT..... did you guys see the other post other post that links to a $30 mail in rebate FROM plextor good through 12/31/2001??

No way that would mean....
take another $30 off the price that cahwis has going!!! That would be liguid magma hot!

$60 bucks for the 24x plextor!!!

I couldn't find free shipping either, but someone on another thread pointed out that it is on P'Watch. I checked it out and it's there.

That's not the right Ingram Micro number for this drive. I called Staples and IM1289314 is the number for the 16X drive. Does anyone have the right number?

The correct part number is IM1313489. Rep on phone told me the corporate office has to approve pricematch because it's almost $100.00 below Staples price which is $241.99. I got a brand new customer service person who didn't really seem like she knew what she was doing. If anyone succeeds in this, please post.

Back in September I got in on the 16x for $134 from Dell.

Plextor denied my $30 rebate because the purchase price went below $150 and although they did not state this on the rebate, they do state that they reserve the right to change or rescind the offer. I got a letter of denial and I followed it up by phone to no avail. Beware!

I was very dissappointed.

Just called and tried this. The CS said that they had the drive in stock for $214 or something....but they could not pricematch to componentsdirect.com because the free shipping times were different (5-10 days for compenentsdirect.com and 2-3 days for staples.com). So i guess start looking for another pricematch site....

1. Here is some info on staples.com from experience.

2. If the price difference is more then 100 they have to call their cooperate office for them to approve.
3. Most likely cooperate will not approve for some stupid reason so keep trying you will misfire once or twice.
4. Some CRS will try to act dum to try to avoid the PM policy.
5. If they give you BS about shipping just say you guys ship the same way ground.

They have it for 136.00 plus 11 bucks for shipping depending on where you are.
Once again the REAL item number is IM1313489
The free shipping for components came from pricewatch, i doubt any staples rep would go through the trouble of that.
If anyone gets the deal, please get the person extension number and call center and ask them when they work so that the rest of us could call. I'm goin to give it a try in a few minutes and I'll repost.

If at first you don't succeed, try again.... maybe you will get a really nice CSR

This is what the online rep told me
"Dolores: I apologize for the inconvenience but item number IM1313489 is currently out of stock. You may want to try back in 7-10 business days to see if available."
Dolores: $241.99

In 7-10 days the rebate expires.
No luck on this deal.
Maybe someone could try Officemax. That's what I heard in another thread.

their is no free shipping.

i guess only through pricewatch u get free shipping and i really doudt if staples sales will count that.;)

Look like I got lucky, I'll get her extension number but I'm in the process of placing the order.
Here is my conversation
I tried another zip code. "92020"
Asked her if I could price match, she said
Dolores: As long as the item is the same, packaged the same and not refurbished, we also add their shipping charge.
Told her about the other site, I guess it is 11.23 to ship to anywhere on that site.
