My portable DVD player only plays DVD-R media, so this drive is no big deal for me. When 8x DVD-R drives ship I'll get one. At that time I'll externalize my current 4X drive.

I cheated somewhat. To take advantage of the $25 off $300 coupon, I asked my friend if he wanted one. Of course, he said yes. It appears they just raised the price from $242.95 to $254.95 =(

But here's how I got it:

$242.95 x 2 = $485.90 - $48.59 (10%) = $437.31 - $25 ($25 off $300) = $412.31 (shipped)

Which makes it $206.16 each. The $25 off $300 coupon just expired on Sept 25th.

There might be other coupons floating around?

Update I'm hearing that there is a 20% and a10% DELL coupons out that can be stacked to buy this Plextor PX-708A 8X DVD±RW Drive at the DELL Small Business web site.

It should look like this : Plextor PX-708A 8x $254.95 - 20% (50.99) - 10% (20.39) = $183.57 + taxes.

DELL SB web site has a 15% discount on storage and power purchase, but it looks like you "cannot" stack coupons with that discount.

I'm also hearing people say that they bought one or both of the DELL coupons on ebay, but be careful that the coupons are stackable with each other.

Bummer... I just experimented and came with the same result. Which one do you have? Mine's an Audiovox 7" I bought from Costco. Strangely, it "can" play DVD+RW fine! I would think if a player was going to be able to play one of DVD+R or DVD+RW, it would be DVD+R (not vice versa).
