If you uncheck "Enable DMA" would it still let you burn at 16x? (I believe the maximum interface rate without UDMA is 16.7MB/s?)
Anyway, I tried using a good IDE cable and using UDMA2. THis reduced down the errors, but i still got errors every once a while. I returned the drive and I getting the SATA drive instead.
There seems to be issues when using 716A on an nForce4 chipset. nVidia uses their own nForce4 PATA drivers instead of the ones that come with xp.
