Gee my Plextor (not this Model so dunno)can do eSafedisc 1 and 2 and it copy's Sims but not my NEC chipset 🙁

The NEC has 4X DL writing, though, which is quite significant if you plan to burn anything in dual layer in the future.
Actually the newest firmware enables 4x DL for the benq. This has turned the tide for many
Oh, nice! Do you know if there's any way to get it to set the DVD-ROM booktype for DVD+R and DVD+RW? If it can, looks like I've changed my mind. 😀

EDIT: Sweet, it CAN set the booktype! Thanks for letting me know about this thing.
 
Guys,

I have to admit as much as I like Plextor stuff and they have great software with them and also as good as the BENQ is rated and how good it sounds, neither of those are a deal.

The NEC is so nice for how much you pay for it, especially now with it on sale.



Is there ANY downside to the NEC besides no software? seriously, 63 dollars is crazy deal on that
