I have a oem HP remarked plextor Scsi CD-rom 40x, i used a program that was on the Hot Deals forum to flash my cd-rom and turn it into a plextor cd-rom. I have a adaptec 29160 scsi card. During start-up of my computer, when it's reading my scsi devices, my "plextor" cd-rom takes about 15 seconds to read while my other devices take less than a second. Also when inserting cds into the cd-rom it takes a while to load up also. also ,i don't have anything in the cd-rom and i have the latest firmware upgrade, does anyone know why? thanks in advance.

try going to the adaptec scsi controller settings and unchecking boot from cdrom

it worked for me

but if you want to boot from that cdrom...that may be a problem...
