plextor 40/12/40 in WinXP help?

The manual says not to install plextor manager for XP. How did you guys running XP and this drive set it up? Thanks!
 
Well, it's just an optical drive. No set up required. Just plug in and go!!

Are you talking about what software to use for burning? Just use Nero or Easy CD Creator (which is what your drive came with). I have no problems with mine--using Nero over Easy CD Creator under WinXP.
 
if you're going to be using ezcd as your burning software, make sure you apply all the patches for it to work troublefree with XP!
 
I found that in XP pro my scsi burner would not work except when using musicmatch until I got Nero. I have never been happier.
 
THanks for the replies. I'm a WinXP and CDR/W newbie. Right now I'm just using the XP feature that automatically opens when a blank cdr is inserted. It seems to work ok.
