i just bought and installed a new, retail box plextor 16/10/40 drive. i was under the impression that plextor drives are generally quiet drives. but for some reason my plextor is quite a bit louder than my other old hp cd-rw drive. the plextor burns discs fine. but the noise...anyone else have similar experiences? if so, are there any remedies to the noise?

thanks in advance.

I have the Pletor 161040A IDE drive, it is loud sometimes, but it all depends on the type of medium you use, if you buy higher quality CDR's its not that loud, but the reason why your plextor is louder than your other drives, is taht its probably spinning the CD so much faster than your old CDR.
