Plextor 16/10/40 makes loud sound when ejecting

when i eject the Plextor door, it seems as if the door is hitting on something before it comes out. Makes a real loud annoying sound... Doesn't happen when i have a cd in there though, anybody have a similar problem?

Take it back, I would. Mine does not make that noise.

no, thats normal. i hear the same thing. im glad that it isnt only me who is having these noises.

I just wanna verify that we have the same situation. When there are not cd's in side the plextor drive, the door seems to jump a little when it comes out intially right?

I never noticed that before, mine does seem to jump a bit when there is no cd in the drive when eject is pushed.

Mine does the same thing. And yes, it only happens when the tray is empty. After using Plextor caddy drives, man, this Plextor is noisy--everything about it is noisy!
