Hi, I just bought the plextor 12x10x32 burner and I'm trying to burn stuff with it. I burned about 6 data cds using Nero at 12x with no problems. I tried to burn the first cue/bin iso tonight using both Nero and Fireburner and both fails at 12x. They give me a streaming error and lose of cache sync. Has anyone experienced this? Any solutions? I don't want to buy CDR-Win now... One last thing, aspi layers are installed and working. Thanks for any help.

Did you make sure that you're using current versions that support your recorder?

Can't remember who and where, but someone posted that they couldn't do bin/cue burns at 12x with the plextor also. They had drop the speed down in order for it to work.

Edit: Here's the tread. Look for the post from noxipoo...doesn't look like you're the only one with the problem.

Edit again: Hahahahah....looks like the person was you. I wonder what the heck I was smoking....:)

Have you tried to burn different bin/cue images? Maybe the one you're trying to burn is corrupted. Just a suggestion...

i have the latest of everything. Bin/cue was not corrupt and i tried many different ones. It just doesn't do it. Something about streaming lost. It seems like fireburners msg board has people posting about the same problem with the same plexter drive.

Noxipoo,
I have just tried to burn Bin/Cue file using CDRWin 3.8d. I used the Plex to read Raw & Full Subcode Analysis, and I successfully burned it at 12x without any problem in 6:30 minutes. The Bin size is 773.368.176 bytes (1 full disc).
I don't know about Nero & FireBurner though.
Your problem "lost streaming" sounds more like a media problem to me. I remember reading about this "streaming error" in Adaptec maillist sometime ago. Surely the software is not Nero/FireBurner, but I remember some people pointed to media problem/compatibility.
Maybe you could try with another media.
