Plextor 12/10/32A question

Every now and then when I try to burn a cd with Nero, it will get to the Lead-in part of the burn and just sit there. I've waited up to several minutes. I'm running win2k and the task seems to be running fine. I'll try to end it, since it's going no where, but the only thing that ends seems to be the gui interface. nero.exe is shown to be running in the processes list. I can't end the nero.exe task either. I can't eject the cd either. The only way I've solved the problem is by rebooting. After rebooting the cd burns fine. The source drive is a IBM 75GXP on my primary master. The plextor is on secondary slave. Do you think having it on the slave would cause this? I have my DVD drive on the master. I'll probably switch the two around and try that, but I wanted to find if anyone had any suggestions.
