What is a better drive? Seriously, aopen is much cheaper than the plextor, it has justlink which is very similar to burnproof, what is better?

i have the AOPEN and I love it. no problems whatsoever. Its an IDE 12x but it does the job and that's all that matters right? :)

Plextor does have a better name, but unless its a scsi version of their 12x, the IDE 12x of AOPEN and Plextor should be the same. AOPEN has burn proof as well as Plextor (I think Plextor has it), so no coasters here. Good luck.

I have the scsi version of the Plextor 12/10/32 drive and it's a great drive. If you are looking to get cheap version of a 12/10/32 drive w/burn proof you should probably check out the Hot Deals forum. There are always good deals on cdrw drives to be found there.

Check the Hot Deals section for the Teac CD-W512EB...12x10x32 with "burnproof"...about $150 for the OEM version with Nero 5.0....compares favorably with the Plextor.

you get for what u pay for. i have a Plextor 8x4x32 and its a great drive but im not sure if yahama or sony or even in this case Aopen would make as good of drives. i never had any others but i have many cd-rom drives and most of them were crap... so if u like the Aopen cd-rw get it... i mean its a known company and not some cheap taiwanese BS. the general public opinion is Plextor>Yamaha>Sony ... but we are not saying the public is wright ;)
