Plexiglas backsplash beside stove?

Our new house has a black plexiglas or acrylic backsplash on the wood cabinet beside the stovetop. Anyone know what this would be called to find a replacement? This one is old and warped and we'd like to replace it.

It is definitely a manufactured item, not something someone made.

Dunno, but wouldn't a different material be better? Plastic is a PITA to keep clean, and it scratches easily.

Not to mention it deforms quite easily under very little thermal abuse.
