plex 2410a vs. via(dae sucks)

just installed this on a new comp
athlon 1400 266fsb kt266
epox mb w\newest bios, 256 mb ram
plex 2410 firmware 1.03 w\supplied 40 pin cable
maxtor 60gig,ata 100
set as master on ide 2
windows 2000 sp2,updated the aspi layer
tried with dma and without
i've tried the microsoft standard ide controllers,along with
all of the via ide controllers

no matter what i try the dae bottoms out at 13x with plextools 1.10,audiocatalyst,audiograbber,could it be the drive?please help,i built this computer for my boss!!!

try ripping in safe mode, if that works, you'll need a faster hd.

faster hard drive!!!! this is a brand new ata 100 maxtor 60 gig!!! its probably the freakin' via drivers ,screw via,intel from now on!!!
