It's none of his business? [Hypothetically] You are taking a dangerous substance that has been known to cause significant problems in users. You don't think your own doctor should know this?

In some cases, they need to know all illicit drug use.

No, as far as I can tell pot does not cause significant problems in users. It is not a dangerous substance. And if I am not showing any symptoms that could be related to the pot, there is no reason for him to know.

1. Yes it is a dangerous substance. Like everything else, if used is extreme moderation, it's not a very dangerous thing for most people. However, most people can't even control what they cram in their mouths when they eat. People tend to over-do things that seem good, and this is when it becomes dangerous.
2. If you are showing a symptom, and you know it's being caused by pot, are you going to just sit there and make your doctor guess as to why you have this symptom rather than just have him ask or you volunteer the info?
ex: You go to the doctor because you shake pretty bad when you don't eat for awhile. The doc asks you if you eat lots of sugary products. You say no because you are embarrased or because you are stupid or something. This puts the doctor on the wrong path to treating your symptom. It could very well be diabetes, but since you lied, the doctor has to persue other avenues and your diabetes will get worse until you die. With pot, it would be very helpful for the doctor to know you are using pot so he can associate symptoms and assign prescriptions that will be safe. IMO, that is a much better alternative to covering it up.
